It was the Race for the Cure -- an important event for a good cause. To get ready for the race, there was the pre-race meal of chicken IMG_0163 and some nuts IMG_0164 before the efforts to make the team sign IMG_0165 caused DrLen to go incognito IMG_0166 as Jane and Kaylen IMG_0167 worked and Jane IMG_0168 made faces. DrLen IMG_0169 was still incognito, but when I awoke the next morning (race day) the sign was ready IMG_0170 and Sarah and Amv IMG_0171 arrived in time IMG_0172 to salute our captain IMG_0173 and start to organize numbers IMG_0174 for the race. Ben IMG_0175 and Suzanne IMG_0176 and Len (back) IMG_0177 and front IMG_0178 were ready as Suzanne bade us well IMG_0179 Amv did her Red Bull S/F IMG_0180 commercial twice IMG_0181 and so we were ready to send the first car on to the race.

We got to the first turn IMG_0182 and then this man IMG_0183 and this one IMG_0184 directed us to leave the car IMG_0185 and walk towards the grounds where we checked to make sure we qualified IMG_0186 and then watched as the winning time IMG_0187 showed that the winner had sped by IMG_0188 so that we could start accumulating goods from these people IMG_0189 while this group IMG_0190 handled the shirt exchange IMG_0191 and Sarah and Amv IMG_0192 covered their backs. Next we ran into the men who ran the race IMG_0193 and posed with their poker pal IMG_0194 and the team sign IMG_0195 and the extended team IMG_0196 (or at least that which was there then). Next, Adele IMG_0197 posed with our sign even though she was on a competing team. Then came Leslie and Laura and kids IMG_0198 and so it was time for a children's picture IMG_0199 or two IMG_0200 after which we ran into Louise, Bill and Willie IMG_0201 and then our captain and other members of our team IMG_0202 as these girls IMG_0203 gave Suzanne survivors things IMG_0204 and a hat IMG_0205 and shirt IMG_0206 as Judy did her signs IMG_0207 and our captain IMG_0208 led us closer to the race. We paused to salute our excellent doctors IMG_0209 and to eat some muffins IMG_0210 before Hannah IMG_0211 and Henry IMG_0212 appeared with painted faces and Michael arrived IMG_0213 and posed with Suzanne and Pam as DrLen IMG_0214 gathered team chairs. As the younger (but not youngest) generation gathered IMG_0215 there were many pictures to be taken IMG_0216 IMG_0217 IMG_0218 IMG_0219 and then the Chip and Leslie IMG_0220 and Judy and Len IMG_0221 pictures before the water commercial IMG_0222 practice. At this point, someone decided to take my picture IMG_0223 before I could take Suzanne and Seva IMG_0224 in the final preparations for the team photo. This man IMG_0225 from this company IMG_0226 organized us and I took many pictures IMG_0227 IMG_0228 IMG_0229 IMG_0230 before joining the picture IMG_0231 IMG_0232 IMG_0233 that this gentleman IMG_0234 was kind enough to take before the officials IMG_0235 IMG_0236 took our official team picture after which the remaining Klockenbrinks IMG_0237 IMG_0239 were photographed and Jane and Lucy IMG_0238 did the famous 2 hands / 1 glove pose.

Suzanne and I posed with the sign IMG_0240 as DrLen did a round of sign hiding poses IMG_0241 IMG_0242 IMG_0243 and the girls IMG_0244 posed before the Rider crowd IMG_0245 IMG_0246 did its pictures. After a trip to Porta-Johnny city IMG_0247 and the generator IMG_0248 that made it all work, it was time for the race to begin. The governor IMG_0249 went by and ignored us. Amv tried to pose with Ben IMG_0250 but we couldn't get a close picture until Sarah joined IMG_0251 and then we start to the beginning line IMG_0252 where the gang was assembling IMG_0253 IMG_0254 and the family Shea IMG_0255 appeared. We marched on IMG_0256 IMG_0257 IMG_0258 IMG_0259 IMG_0260 until we came to the reviewing stand where the governor IMG_0261 IMG_0262 mentioned our team and so we marched on IMG_0263 and continued IMG_0264 stopping to take this inspiration from BMS IMG_0265 before we reached the finish IMG_0266 and recorded our time IMG_0267 and the rest of our team members IMG_0268 IMG_0269 IMG_0270 who had gone before us. While gathering, we met Ms. teen New Jersey IMG_0271 and wished her well at the nationals. Then, we met someone in Princeton colors and had her pose with our 2 sophomores IMG_0272 before heading home where Chip IMG_0273 had his plate full having received the food IMG_0274 from Olive's, while Adam IMG_0275 solved the problem of the beer bottle opener. Laura and Hannah IMG_0276 and Kathy IMG_0277 were eating as I made my weird gnome faces IMG_0278 IMG_0279 and Judy IMG_0280 ate and Sarah and Michael IMG_0281 discussed the English language being eventually joined by Amv IMG_0282 as the Shea's IMG_0283 ate incognito and Ben IMG_0284 and several Klockenbrinks IMG_0285 watched the football game IMG_0286 while the teenagers IMG_0287 ate on both sides of their table IMG_0288 and remained amused by the matzah ball IMG_0289 as I admired their clean plates IMG_0290 and Jane IMG_0291 considered getting a rest but there was no escaping the discussion IMG_0292 IMG_0293 about fees at Nassau Swim Club.
