Scavenger Hunt I'm not sure how these events got lumped together but one must have naturally led to the other because it seems like they were linked together on the camera.
The scavenger hunt
John IMG_1359 was there and Jon IMG_1360 seem to have gathered the traffic cone that ended up on our front porch. John and Joyce IMG_1361 headed off as Lily IMG_1362 relieved herself. Their team IMG_1363 seemed to know how to go in IMG_1364 IMG_1365 and through IMG_1366 the woods IMG_1367 while posing for many pictures until they got to Piya's house IMG_1368 but a trip through the brush IMG_1369 left them at this laundromat IMG_1370 while the other team used the bench IMG_1371 and then found its way up to the ledge IMG_1372 IMG_1373 and beyond up the wall IMG_1374 IMG_1375 before starting back IMG_1376 down IMG_1377 form the ledge IMG_1378 to the ground IMG_1379 for another photo op IMG_1381 before the journey home IMG_1382 where Andy and Sarah seem to have switched clothes IMG_1383 IMG_1384 or something like that.

The puzzles
The rest of us were putting our time to a different kind of productive use. The candy bar puzzle IMG_1385 IMG_1386 got completed as did the abstract art puzzle IMG_1387 but we didn't make enough progress on the Cracker Jack puzzle when we decided to undertake our mission in New York.
A day in the city
We parked the car IMG_1388 and bought a ticket for the parking space IMG_1389 but did NOT photograph the person who sold us the train tickets. This poster IMG_1390 appealed to Benjamin IMG_1391 as Sarah talked on her cell phone IMG_1392 which was to be a bit of a recurring theme.

On the ride north, I recorded Elizabeth IMG_1393 while Benjamin recorded me, IMG_1394 then Sarah, IMG_1395 then me IMG_1396 again. Next we missed IMG_1397 and then only slightly connected IMG_1398 IMG_1399 on pictures of the people int he opposite seat -- he with the resume with his head shot on the other side and the growing candelabra rental business. All of this got us to the subway station IMG_1400 to head south to Washington Square Park IMG_1401 where Ben and Sarah IMG_1402 watched the baseball game IMG_1403 and we then studied the signs IMG_1404 to Benjamin's amusement IMG_1405 before walking further, taking this bad picture IMG_1406 and then this picture IMG_1407 for what will ultimately become yet another connection. We recorded McDonald's IMG_1408 and the obligatory phone booth IMG_1409 in Chinatown before having this wonderful Dim Sum, IMG_1410 IMG_1411 IMG_1412 IMG_1413 IMG_1414 though I can't remember the names of the dishes our new friend IMG_1415 brought before taking this picture of us IMG_1416 and sending us on our way. At the next obligatory phone booth photo, IMG_1417 Sarah IMG_1418 and then both of us IMG_1419 IMG_1420 obliged with phone photos. Next we went to Ferrarra's where Sarah had this dish IMG_1421 and Benjamin IMG_1422 had this cone. Back on the train, this gentleman IMG_1423 offered advice as well as a restaurant guide and we promised to send him his picture even though he had never heard of the Museum of Radio and Television IMG_1424 to which we went next even though the whole place is trademarked and no photos can be taken inside.

After 2 hours of television, we were ready for a walk back to the train. Sarah stopped to buy Olive Butter from this person IMG_1425 who then agreed to do a makeover. This is the before picture IMG_1426 and the initial action IMG_1427 as Benjamin watched IMG_1428 and the work progressed IMG_1429 to this intermediate result IMG_1430 and the final eye touches IMG_1431 that led to this after IMG_1432 picture. Quite a difference.

On the final part of our path, we met a man who told us the world was ended IMG_1433 and another who seemed to have a Christ complex IMG_1434 before getting to our train IMG_1435 where Benjamin could model his new hat IMG_1436 in rapper mode.

This was a trip with a mission. We got 2 of them IMG_1437 but the photographs IMG_1438 IMG_1439 IMG_1440 IMG_1441 IMG_1442 come far from representing reality. It's time for a visit to the optics people to understand how to get the lighting right, not an easy task with the geometry of the paperweights being what it is and all.
