On Prom day itself, Peter IMG_0243 and Seva IMG_0244 arrived to drop off a controversial wrap as Benjamin and I headed to his play date at which Krispy Kreme donuts (the very best) IMG_0245 were served by Rhonda. IMG_0246

On my return, Claire arrived IMG_0247 for before pictures of her nails IMG_0248 and Sarah's IMG_0249 even though Sarah IMG_0250 was not nearly as awake as Jane IMG_0251 and Kaylen IMG_0252 were. The after pictures of Sarah IMG_0253 Claire IMG_0254 and Jess (before picture coming soon) IMG_0255 could be an ad for Pink Nails. Next came the beauty parlor where they did this to the back of Sarah's head IMG_0256 and this to the front IMG_0257 IMG_0258 IMG_0259 another back IMG_0260 another front IMG_0261 to the amusement of Pam IMG_0262 who had just finished making this cheese plate IMG_0263 for those who would come later. All of this was fine with Benjamin who had invested his Krispy Kreme energy into getting one leg IMG_0264 then the other IMG_0265 then both legs IMG_0266 of his pants very muddied.

Benjamin and I adjourned to a chess game IMG_0267 while Kaylen and Jane IMG_0268 worked at a PS2 game. Jess and Claire arrived to show us their doos front IMG_0269 and back IMG_0270 just as the chess game got to this position IMG_0271 and Benjamin (playing white) offered a draw. After some discussion, we decided to adjourn the game and ask Jon Huang whether a draw was in order. Later, he concurred. These wonderful flowers IMG_0272 came from Thelma and Mark IMG_0273 which inspired Jane to make MVI_0274.AVI this movie and MVI_0275.AVI this movie and take a stream of black and white photos of the flowers IMG_0276 IMG_0277 and the room IMG_0278 followed by a potpourri of pictures aimed at gauging the camera's range IMG_0279 IMG_0280 IMG_0281 IMG_0282 IMG_0283 IMG_0284 IMG_0285 IMG_0286 IMG_0287 IMG_0288 IMG_0289 and these pictures that are waiting for us to learn how to use the stitching feature of the camera. But the final event was about to start as Sarah reappeared to model her makeup IMG_0297 IMG_0298 JanBoy modeled his new glasses IMG_0299 and JanGirl showed the books IMG_0300 she had brought to Benjamin.

The first arrival was Maya IMG_0301 accompanied by her IMG_0302 proud parents who had to run off and so couldn't see all of the festivities. Next, Fanny IMG_0303 and Ryan IMG_0304 who also posed for couples pictures IMG_0305 IMG_0306 Dottie Byers arrived IMG_0307 to get her share of snaps and then came Naomi and Ruvain IMG_0308 with Teddy IMG_0309 but they had to depart for camera batteries. Andy IMG_0310 came next followed by John IMG_0311 Joyce IMG_0312 Mary IMG_0313 and Ben Kaplan. IMG_0314

Sarah chose this time to re-emerge and scour her backpack for her prom ticket IMG_0315 before posing for the numerous obligatory prom gown pictures close up IMG_0316 further away IMG_0317 full length IMG_0318 back IMG_0319 and final front. IMG_0320

There followed a few candid shots ( actually how candid can a shot be of people in tuxes and prom gowns? ) IMG_0321 IMG_0322 IMG_0323 much to the amusement of Suzanne IMG_0324 who was looking good for the day after surgery. The gowns started to assemble IMG_0325 IMG_0326 as did the tuxes IMG_0327 while Sarah pinned a flower on John IMG_0328 and then modeled in front of the refrigirator. IMG_0329 After a group picture of Sarah with the boys IMG_0330 there follwoed the collection of Sarah and John photos IMG_0331 IMG_0332 IMG_0333 IMG_0334 IMG_0335 followed by a few more candid shots IMG_0336 IMG_0337 after which Sarah helped Joyce with her necklace IMG_0338 and posed IMG_0339 for yet another picture.

Next the Huangs arrived with Jess, Jon and Claire IMG_0340 and we recorded Jess IMG_0341 and her nails. IMG_0342 Claire IMG_0343 and full length IMG_0344 and Jon IMG_0345 and full length IMG_0346 not to mention Claire and Jon IMG_0347 together. Jon's father IMG_0348 had the same idea.
