On Saturday, May 15, the 4 of us went into town (while I suspect Sarah worked (or worried) about her last exam). There were a few street crossings IMG_1369 IMG_1370 IMG_1371 that led to the usual disputes about whether it is valid to cross against the light if you can make it. But those debates were interrupted when we saw Celia Chazelle IMG_1372 and then Jane crossed the street to talk to Fred IMG_1373 while we ran into Rush and Heidi IMG_1374 and admired his hat. We made our way to the library and took a few pictures inside IMG_1375 IMG_1376 before sitting on the bench IMG_1377 and waiting for Jane to appear and cross the street IMG_1378 so that we could go to the Gap which is soon to close. Once there, Jane tried on a hat IMG_1379 I explored 3 shirts IMG_1380 IMG_1381 IMG_1382 to find my colors and Jane tried another hat IMG_1383 before Ben and I escaped to the fountain IMG_1384 and then we went to Talbots and waited IMG_1385 with the lemons IMG_1386 while Suzanne claimed her free shirts. Down the road, the jewelry store was closing IMG_1387 and someone was protesting Iraq IMG_1388 by hiding under a pillow case. We wish our president would be put under a pillow case but more on that later.

On Sunday May 16, Jane tried on Suzanne's robes IMG_1389 IMG_1390 IMG_1391 IMG_1392 until she got it right front IMG_1393 and back IMG_1394 and so could lounge IMG_1395 with Ben IMG_1396 as we headed off to the Kerry rally where this man IMG_1397 wanted to take a picture of me with Stu Schwartz and Mary Baum IMG_1398 as I took this picture of Suzanne and Carol Brown IMG_1399 and we listened to the speeches.

On Monday May 17 while waiting for Paul to pick me up, I studied our tree and recorded the cicadas IMG_1400 zooming in IMG_1401 IMG_1402 IMG_1403 for a once-in-seventeen years experience.

On Tuesday May 18, Suzanne and Jane IMG_1404 led the way to Johnson Park where Tony IMG_1405 arrived and after my profile IMG_1406 I caught this blind shot IMG_1407 of Tony and Kathy as Suzanne IMG_1408 chatted with them and Mike Snyder IMG_1409 sat a few rows ahead as the band entered IMG_1410 and Ben IMG_1411 came with the second group. After noting John Shea IMG_1412 we called it a day.

On Wednesday May 19, Carol Armstrong IMG_1413 from Art and Archaeology and the Program in Women and Gender came to chat.

On Thursday May 20, I chatted with Eduardo Cadava IMG_1414 from the English Department and Bob Cava IMG_1415 the new head of the Chemistry Department.

On Friday May 21, Sarah was emptying the minivan IMG_1416 as Joel and Ben IMG_1417 hung by the tree and Sarah and Amv IMG_1418 showed their strength and Amv IMG_1419 her power sources so that we could find Steven Just IMG_1420 at the Rusty Scupper parking lot and begin the trip towards the Lincoln Tunnel IMG_1421 heading towards EZ Pass IMG_1422 and into the lanes IMG_1423 and eventually to the city IMG_1424 where out help was needed and the city traffic IMG_1425 hardly needed this traffic cop IMG_1426 as we took our ticket IMG_1427 and got in line IMG_1428 to leave the car so that we could go to the restaurant IMG_1429 where Seva and Peter IMG_1430 settled in and after my missed shot IMG_1431 I captured Steven and Sara IMG_1432 and Suzanne IMG_1433 and then took this self portrait IMG_1434 before the apple martini IMG_1435 and cosmo IMG_1436 from the waiter IMG_1437 made the appetizers IMG_1438 IMG_1439 IMG_1440 look so good as the pepper waiter IMG_1441 brought a last appetizer IMG_1442 that set Peter off IMG_1443 before the main courses.

After capturing my main course IMG_1444 in the dark, I lit up Steven's IMG_1445 and Suzanne's IMG_1446 and my cheese IMG_1447 and the Kramers IMG_1448 IMG_1449 in some order before we said good bye to the waiters IMG_1450 who will be looking for their picture on the web and posed outside the restaurant IMG_1451 IMG_1452 IMG_1453 while admiring the girl across the street IMG_1454 for her hair and cell phone before walking to the play IMG_1455 which was enough to amuse Steven IMG_1456 as we began the walk back and Sara chatted on the phone IMG_1457 while Suzanne and Seva IMG_1458 chatted and Peter IMG_1459 fiddled so that I could take this self portrait IMG_1460 and then this elegant shot of an inspirational sign IMG_1461 before checking out the bathroom sign IMG_1462 and having my iced decaf coffee IMG_1463 and pastries IMG_1464 that couldn't wake up Suzanne IMG_1465 even as Peter brought me photos IMG_1466 that wouldn't take int he light.

On Saturday May 22, I began the day with possible passport photos of Ben IMG_1467 IMG_1468 and Jane IMG_1469 IMG_1470 before parking next to this car IMG_1471 at the library IMG_1472 and having this gentleman IMG_1473 explain why our paperwork was not in order for Ben and why our picture was not good for Jane. So, it will be another journey.
