It was author's tea. In previous years, we went to authors tea
back in 2002 and a few times before the advent of digital
photography.
But, before I could go, I looked out of my office window one day
and saw some of Ben's classmates (on May 11).

On the next day, May 12, I
took pictures of Coe Evans
IMG_1304
and Lorrie McGough
from the
IMG_1305
housing department.
Finally, on Thursday May 13, it was time for the main event. Ben
IMG_1306
came into frame
IMG_1307
and let me past the 5th grade exhibit
IMG_1308
to his classroom
IMG_1309
where he went in
IMG_1310
to see the various foods
IMG_1311
including tomato and cheddar sandwiches
IMG_1312
cucumber and cottage cheese sandwiches
IMG_1313
and peanut butter rollups
IMG_1314
that Meredith
IMG_1315
IMG_1316
had made. After looking at the list of presentations
IMG_1317
we admired the wafer pencils
IMG_1318
and chocolate chip pan cookie (with a message)
IMG_1319
along with the foods
IMG_1320
IMG_1321
that we didn't bring. We reviewed our food
IMG_1322
IMG_1323
and Meredith
IMG_1324
IMG_1325
and more food
IMG_1326
IMG_1327
IMG_1328
IMG_1329
before the teacher (Ms. Sanderson)
IMG_1330
and Suzanne
IMG_1331
suggested that we say hello to Ed and Ryan
IMG_1332
and have Ben lead us on a tour
IMG_1333
of his work
IMG_1334
of the class book
IMG_1335
and his page in it
IMG_1336
and then of his poem
IMG_1337
in the book of poetry.
The kids then began to read their stories in turn

IMG_1342
IMG_1343
IMG_1344
IMG_1345
IMG_1346
IMG_1347
IMG_1348
IMG_1349
IMG_1350
IMG_1351
with Suzanne listening
IMG_1352
as after one more
IMG_1353
it was Ben's turn
IMG_1354
IMG_1355
IMG_1356
IMG_1357
and then he gave up the stage
IMG_1358
and the stories continued
IMG_1359
IMG_1360
IMG_1361
IMG_1362
IMG_1363
which built up a large appetite so that the food was finished
IMG_1364
and we could go but stopped on the way out to record this person
IMG_1365
and Ben's artwork
IMG_1366
to end a creative day.
