The ride was pleasant enough IMG_0011 until we realized we might miss the plane. But, alas thanks to some serious dashing through airports, we got on the plane and Sarah and Jane IMG_0012 and Ben and Suzanne IMG_0013 settled in much to the amusement of this gentleman IMG_0014 who probably didn't realize that the drink IMG_0015 IMG_0016 and food IMG_0017 IMG_0018 could be quite so bad.

On the other end, we crowded into the back IMG_0019 of the rental courtesy van until we got to La Jolla where Jane IMG_0020 summarized our mood as Dansyl IMG_0021 appeared and served some food IMG_0022 to the assembled masses IMG_0023 IMG_0024 IMG_0025 IMG_0026 IMG_0027 none of whom could quite stay awake.

Monday morning, I was up bright and early IMG_0028 for the breakfast spread IMG_0029 as Sylvia IMG_0030 modeled her new scarves IMG_0031 IMG_0032 before we got in the car for the trip to Denny's IMG_0033 where Janet IMG_0034 and Larry IMG_0035 magically appeared and we rejected this lunch place IMG_0036 for this one IMG_0037 where these kind people IMG_0038 got us going IMG_0039 with drinks IMG_0040 as their helper IMG_0041 emerged IMG_0042 to make sandwiches as I headed for this room IMG_0043 where they had this sign IMG_0044 for the collection. Back at the cars, Larry and Sarah waited IMG_0045 and posed IMG_0046 as Jane IMG_0047 and then Benjamin IMG_0048 joined while Janet IMG_0049 went looking for Suzanne IMG_0050 so we could go to this beach IMG_0051 and eat our lunches IMG_0052 IMG_0053 before heading down IMG_0054 for the group picture IMG_0055 (sans Janet). Later, Suzanne and Ben gathered by water's edge IMG_0056 IMG_0057 IMG_0058 IMG_0059 so that Benjamin could bring back this seaweed IMG_0060 and pose IMG_0061 before we headed to the ice cream stand IMG_0062 to order from the cowabunga menu IMG_0063 and then stop at the book store IMG_0064 before beginning the trip south. We missed our picture IMG_0065 of roadside California as we headed towards dinner.
