We wanted to get together to celebrate Sarah's graduation and Josh's graduation but there always seemed to be an obstacle. Now, Sarah was just back from South Carolina and Josh was getting ready to go north to Alaska. So, we drove off but went slightly too far and so had to turn around but we got to do so in the parking lot of this place IMG_1155 we've wanted to capture for a long time. At dinner, Sarah IMG_1156 Suzanne G. IMG_1157 Suzanne W. IMG_1158 Josh IMG_1159 Michael IMG_1160 and David IMG_1161 had a pleasant chat with the waitress IMG_1162 about the dessert IMG_1163 and cappuccino IMG_1164 when the owner came by IMG_1165 and then was joined by his wife IMG_1166 and they took these pictures of our distinguished group IMG_1167 IMG_1168 after which I captured the bathroom signage IMG_1169 IMG_1170 and was unable to get a picture of the sub shop IMG_1171 across the street.

Early the next morning, we got gas IMG_1172 and then drove the Thruway until we paid our toll IMG_1173 and through a wrong turn found the sculpture garden IMG_1174 IMG_1175 IMG_1176 by going 10 miles out of our way; but eventually we got to Williamstown IMG_1177 and Jane and Suzanne led the way IMG_1178 to the restaurant opposite Lickety Split IMG_1179 which was decorated by these animals IMG_1180 on a beautiful summer day. The bathroom across the street (but don't make a mistake and open the door to the doctor's office by mistake) had this ice cream story IMG_1181 this playbill IMG_1182 and this sign for the collection IMG_1183 of such signs. Unfortunately, they wouldn't let us bring the menu home IMG_1184 for that collection. Jane didn't make the clean plate club IMG_1185 which she may regret after eating around the campfire for 2 weeks. We took a picture of the post office IMG_1186 and the obligatory phone booth picture IMG_1187 even though it was sponsored by Verizon, the evil empire.

Next, we went to drop Jane off at camp. Her group leaders IMG_1188 seemed very nice and eventually the Hagadorn's arrived IMG_1189 as Jane finished packing her panniers IMG_1190 and then posed with Kaylen IMG_1191 after which Kaylen did her tough pose ( wording suggested by Kaylen ) IMG_1192 and Jane did her dance pose? IMG_1193 after which there were family pictures IMG_1194 IMG_1195 and then we departed as soon as we could get Adele and Suzanne IMG_1196 to finish their conversation.

Next we went to the Clark Museum IMG_1197 and silver collection and after a rest at our hotel, headed to the restaurant (From Ketchup to Caviar) IMG_1198 where my main course was well presented IMG_1199 but the Epsteins and their friends IMG_1200 couldn't believe I would take it's picture (and theirs). Not to mention Suzanne's main course IMG_1201 and the waiter IMG_1202 who is about to start Boston College.

The next day, we took the view from our Inn IMG_1203 and the entry to the Inn IMG_1204 and then went to Tanglewood IMG_1205 for the obligatory phone booth picture IMG_1206 and a second obligatory picture IMG_1207 with Suzanne in it before we headed to Lenox and saw the town hall IMG_1208 but chose a different mailbox IMG_1209 for Suzanne to mail IMG_1210 our letters.

Next stop was Stockbridge where we saw Alice's Restaurant IMG_1211 where they were selling the T shirts IMG_1212 that tell the story. Our final Massachusetts stop was Great Barrington where we got this neon sign. IMG_1213 of the no longer Hotpoint store.

Finally, we stopped at FDR's house in Hyde Park where the National Park people IMG_1214 collected our fee and then we saw this statue IMG_1215 that was cut from the Berlin Wall. Next we got to the house IMG_1216 in this setting IMG_1217 and took the tour. The back of the house IMG_1218 IMG_1219 was also impressive. We saw this bird IMG_1220 because FDR was not there to collect it. One of the horses in the stable IMG_1221 was right out of Guys and Dolls. After paying final respects IMG_1222 we noted this sign IMG_1223 on the way to his library.
