Suzanne and I decided that we should take a trip somewhere. We could never figure out a place to go. Finally, we decided on a time to go and then I decided on the place but wouldn't tell her. She was getting the mail P7060001 when the car came P7060002 to take us to the airport P7060003

Next thing we knew it was the next day and we were at the Musee Orsay P7070004 looking at this sculpture P7070005 when Suzanne discovered Virgil P7070006 and I discovered the working man P7070007 and the 2 men chatting P7070008 After another sculpture P7070009 and a few paintings P7070010 P7070011 we went upstairs where the views were remarkable P7070012 P7070013 and they had Whistler's Mother P7070014 but we could hardly stay awake over lunch P7070015 and so we took one last picture P7070016 and the obligatory phone booth picture P7070017 and found our hotel bed P7070018 The bed was in a great room P7070019 P7070020 with a bathroom P7070021 that was very beautiful P7070022 even if the shower didn't work.

We put down our banana P7070023 and after a nap, we walked off to Saint Germain P7070024 P7070025 P7070026 where there was a wedding in progress. P7070027 We admired the fountain P7070028 and the traffic P7070029 and then headed further to Notre Dame P7070030 and past the Hotel De Ville P7070031 to the subway P7070032 to the restaurant, Le Repaire de Cartouche. P7070033 Before going in, we took the obligatory phone booth picture P7070034 My vegetable plate was great. P7070035 Suzanne's seafood was even better P7070036 The wine was good P7070037 The menu P7070038 was full of good things P7070039 and Suzanne seemed amused P7070040 as I checked out the facilities P7070041 P7070042 and we left the restaurant P7070043 by the other door and caught a subway in the rain P7070044 changing here P7070045 P7070046 for the trip home.

The next day was Sunday. I took a picture of a smart car P7080047 from our hotel room as Suzanne slept. P7080048 Then we both saw a smart car P7080049 and a poster for Recess School's Out P7080050 which hadn't opened there yet. We saw this statue/sculpture P7080051 P7080052 and this typical Paris street scene P7080053 before passing the Cafe de Flore P7080054 for breakfast at Le Deux Maggots P7080055 where this P7080056 was not our waiter. My rolls P7080057 and coffee P7080058 were good as was Suzanne's coffee. P7080059 We made sculptures P7080060 as the pigeons P7080064 ate the remains of our neighbors meal. P7080061 Suzanne watched P7080062 and I read the bill P7080063 at this historic street. P7080065

For a moment, we thought we were seeing Nicole's last meal. P7080066

After breakfast, we walked over to Notre Dame P7080067 P7080068 P7080069 where the line was long P7080070 and you had to cover shoulders P7080071 and turn off cel phones P7080072 before entering P7080073 P7080074 There was a mass going P7080075 P7080076 which limited photography but we did get to see the holy water P7080077 and the confession setup P7080078 P7080079 P7080080 P7080081 P7080082 in all the languages. The path to the tower P7080083 was unfortunately closed. But, we did get a chance to notice the architecture including the flying buttresses P7080084 P7080085 and the towers P7080086 P7080087 P7080088 P7080089 P7080090 We noted the painters along the Seine P7080091 as we passed the statue P7080092 and got exact change P7080093 so that we could enter Sainte Chappelle P7080094 where the first floor P7080095 had remarkable architecture P7080096 The floor above had stained glass P7080097 a Rose window P7080098 a fabulous floor P7080099 and even more stained glass. P7080100 P7080101 We went past the ``Liberte, Eqalite, Fraternite'' building Palais de Justice P7080102 P7080103 on the way to the Conciergerie where the architecture was even more impressive P7080104 and we saw the replica of Marie Antoinette P7080105 and the description P7080106 of the guillotine blade P7080107 and Saint-Just P7080108 was there. We took the obligatory phone booth picture P7080109 and then headed off. It started to rain when we got to the Pompidou Center, so we stopped there. Once we got to the roof, there were great views of the Eiffel Tower P7080110 Sacre Couer P7080111 the plaza below P7080112 Notre Dame, P7080113 and the fountain. P7080114 Inside we liked the rhino P7080115 and chess set. P7080116 Back on the plaza, this man was making music P7080117 but we had no MP3 recorder. The Pompidou itself P7080118 is a great structure and we enjoyed the special exhibit P7080119 on Hitchcock. I went to this crepe stand P7080120 while Suzanne watched P7080121 and the large tulip waited P7080122 and got this chocolate crepe P7080123 On the way back, we passed this candy store P7080124 decorated in numerous colors. We took the boat ride and they told us we had to take this picture P7080125 before Suzanne fell asleep. P7080126 We went to mile zero P7080127 and back to the hotel for a rest.

That evening, on the way to dinner, we passed a French recycling for bottles P7080128 the statue of Dreyfuss P7080129 P7080130 P7080131 and then we were at restaurant La Dome P7080132 where the plates were pretty P7080133 and Suzanne was happy. P7080134 Suzanne had the tuna appetizer P7080135 I had the vegetarian main course P7080136 and she had the fish main course P7080137 with white wine P7080138 Then the dessert menu came P7080139 and we split a serious death by chocolate P7080140 and creme brulee (that had pineapple and coconut in it) P7080141 This was the guy at the next table P7080142 this was our waiter P7080143 and this was the bill. P7080144

The next day, the banana P7090145 was still there. We walked beyond this woman and her kids P7090146 with McDonald's logos on the back of their hats to views of Eiffel Tower P7090147 bridge across the Seine P7090148 Les Invalides P7090149 where we took a picture of Suzanne with the cannon P7090150 and David with the guard. P7090151 After a look at Napoleon's tomb P7090152 we went to the Arpege restaurant where they were cleaning the sidewalk P7090153 and he was getting ready to mop it. P7090154 The Rodin museum across the street was closed P7090155 so Suzanne went shopping for shoes. P7090156 After the obligatory phone booth picture P7090157 we were ready for the meal. We had this caviar P7090158 and then noticed the decoration of (inedible) African cucumbers P7090159 on our table. This P7090160 was an egg shell filled with egg, cream and maple syrup. The bread P7090161 was really quite good. This P7090162 is the most expensive bottle of wine I've ever bought. The soup P7090163 was gazpacho with pepper ice cream. Then came the couscous. P7090164 Then, the tomatoes filled with vegetables P7090165 I had ravioli filled with dates and tomatoes P7090166 and Suzanne had mussel soup P7090167 Then I had an artichoke P7090168 and Suzanne has lobster P7090169 After, canteloupe, mozzarella and great tasting green peppercorns P7090170 we had a sweet P7090171 and then a tomato with 16 tastes (you have to ask Suzanne what they were) P7090172 with licorice ice cream. The strawberries P7090173 were in Hibiscus sauce and then they brought another plate of sweets. P7090174 (I think this was a mistake. I think different sweets were supposed to come. ) I took a picture of the owner's mother P7090175 and the sugar P7090176 while we drank our coffee. P7090177 This was the head waiter P7090178 P7090179 who gave us his card P7090180 and the bill P7090181 We went back to the shoe store where P7090182 where he P7090185 fitted P7090184 Suzanne's shoes P7090183

Next, we headed to the Eiffel Tower P7090186 and took many views P7090187 P7090188 P7090189 as David talked to Augustus himself P7090190 Back near the hotel, we found Croque Monsieur P7090191 and then had our rest.

We hardly needed dinner after that lunch, so we walked through the Luxemborg Gardens where the facility P7090192 was closed. We sat P7090193 and stared at the Rodins P7090194 in front of the Palace. P7090195 and recorded this statue P7090196 before the whistle blew telling us it was time to leave. At the restaurant, they had this self cleaning toilet P7090197 and I took the obligatory phone booth picture P7090198 before we were seated at Balzar P7090199 where the bread P7090200 made Suzanne happy. P7090201 I liked my salad P7090202 Suzanne liked her smoked salmon P7090203 and her red wine P7090204 and my white wine P7090205 were fine. Then came the salad P7090206 which we enjoyed and the cheese. P7090207 We left as members in good standing P7090208 of the clean plate club. We paid our bill P7100211 and on the way home, we took this picture for Jane's P7090209 Armani collection.

The next day was Tuesday and the banana P7100210 was still there. We went to see the zebra, P7100212 the ostrich, P7100213 the cats, P7100214 the dog, P7100215 and the ox P7100216 at this woman's taxidermy shop. P7100217 After Suzanne said good bye to the polar bear P7100218 and David to the horse P7100219 we went to see this man P7100220 who sold us these shirts. P7100221

By now, Suzanne P7100223 was desperate for this coffee P7100222 at this place P7100227 that made her instantly happy. P7100224 We unwrapped our package P7100225 and ate these pastries P7100226 from this place P7100228 before heading to lunch at the vegetarian place P7100229 where Suzanne had an aperitif P7100230 and I had white wine P7100231 The bread was good P7100232 Suzanne's salad was large P7100233 My vegetable dish was weird P7100234 and still we had another salad P7100235 and a quiche P7100236 to eat. This lady P7100237 sold us chocolate that wasn't very good and we took another Armani picture P7100238 in Bon Marche for Jane's collection.

After a rest, we headed out for our last dinner. We took the obligatory phone booth picture P7100239 and a picture of the elephant statue P7100240 before crossing this bridge P7100241 to get this great view of the Orsay. P7100242 These people P7100243 blocked my first picture of the arch P7100244 but we managed to capture the Ferris wheel P7100245 as the skies darkened P7100246 and we left the area. P7100247 We passed the Statue of Joan of Arc P7100248 and the metro stop at the Louvre P7100249 en route to the royal palace P7100250 where we got these 2 views P7100251 P7100252 of this sculpture. The balls were nice P7100253 as were the scooter kids. P7100254 We saw this sculpture P7100255 and this one P7100256 had words when you got close. The meal there P7110307 P7110308 wasn't as good. David's lunch P7110309 was no surprise. P7110310

Here's how Paul and Judy interpreted the trip. P7110311 The kids (Sarah and her gang) made us this cake to welcome us home P7120312 P7120313
