It was Saturday April 9 and a beautiful day, so we decided to walk to
what we perceive as the end of Nassau Street and back. Along the way,
I took an obligatory phone booth picture

involving Ben.

The next day was party day. We were having a crowd of hundreds (well,
maybe 100) and so it was good that Don
IMG_0614
was starting to get things ready and the wait staff
IMG_0615
IMG_0616
was prepared as the backyard bar
IMG_0617
was set, the flowers hung
IMG_0618
and the table set
IMG_0619
not far from the planter
IMG_0620
and other arrangements
IMG_0621
IMG_0622
IMG_0623
even as the inside bar
IMG_0624
got ready and glasses
IMG_0625
were unpacked. The family room
IMG_0626
will never be this clean again and despite our efforts at organizing the porch
IMG_0627
IMG_0628
no one went out there. The kitchen had flowers
IMG_0629
so I went to put on the baseball tie
IMG_0630
IMG_0631
IMG_0632
as more flowers (or flower pictures)
IMG_0633
emerged and the herbs
IMG_0634
and other arrangements
IMG_0635
came to the kitchen while the buffet
IMG_0636
was set and the veggies and dips
IMG_0637
and arrangements for hummus
IMG_0638
and the bar
IMG_0639
were set so that the cheeses
IMG_0640
and hummus
IMG_0641
could come out. The display was beautiful
IMG_0642
but I never got to taste it though the bartender
IMG_0643
did share his wares with me but first the food truck
IMG_0644
had to offload
IMG_0645
so that Jane and Chef Larry
IMG_0646
IMG_0647
could get together for her chicken tenders
IMG_0648
which didn't seem to be served to others.

On Monday April 11 on the way home from work, I ran into 3 generations
of Sanderson's
IMG_0649
having a picnic as the baby slept

more or less.
