Jane had to do a project for Civics so she took a poll on how many people believe we should switch to the metric system. October 12, 2001 as told by Sarah. Today was Class Spirit Day at Princeton High School. Being a senior, and the class president no less, I was particularly excited about the anticipated pep rally. Claire decided last night that we should get to school incredibly early, 7:15 AM even, so that we could see what our classmates had done for the senior prank, since we had nothing to do with it. Yet, at 7:10, when she was already 5 minutes late, Claire had still not arrived to pick me up as I tried, but failed miserably, to document. Finally Claire showed up and we drove down Nassau Street, under a foggy air and a cloud-streaked sky so that we could get to Joyce's house where Joyce was waiting eagerly. We got to the school a little later than expected, but didn't realize that parking would be a problem since the Old Senior Lot was still blocked off from the painting. We usually like to arrive inconspicuously to give Claire a chance to park her massive Impala or in other words, a type of African Gazelle or Antelope depending on whom you believe... To our great chagrin, the Senior Girls who had purchased "Senior Girls '02" t-shirts were already congregated, all, of course, wearing their aforementioned shirts. Claire, Joyce, and I had chosen not to participate for reasons better off left unmentioned. We did take this opportunity to dress ourselves up in green and gold ribbon and gold glitter like the rest of the crowd. Even though they had already cleaned up the Senior Prank, we ran over to the front of the school to observe the genius of Andrew Hood. The painting of the Old Senior Lot turned out pretty well (in case you can't tell, it's a picture of the yellow brick road to the Emerald City - our colors are green and gold, if you hadn't realized yet) and if you look closely enough you can see the nearly-fatal risk I took in expressing my creativity. While waiting for Jess's mom at the back of the school, I decided to take some pictures of the lovely foliage and an attempt to capture the secret clock on the roof which no one else seems to believe is really a clock. It was Friday night and Sarah's friends were starting to assemble in the kitchen for the Friday night Italian cooking event. John Byers

to go pick up Jane at her dance. As the table cleared and the food was put away

and the topic of some discussion as she tried to convince us that Jane might want hair like this although Jane prefers to focus on her nails until now. Michael and Sarah gave us a variety of views

All of this amused Benjamin and Jane who were watching from the porch as we recorded the CROP walk taken today.

The day started with Suzanne getting these pictures of Sarah and Jane posing in their costumes by the house and then by the tree.

Jane finally got her picture of the house before I took control of the camera for the rest of the day. It being Halloween, we had pumpkin seeds

It all began as a normal Saturday at home. Jane preferred to be incognito as she slaved at her homework

We came out of the movie to see Fred and Jane and on the way out of the mall, we ran into Kevin and Ned

I wore the neck warmer that Jane had made for me to get warm for the game and we displayed the holiday icons of Sarah's plate

and then Els (with Jane) and Kaylen.

as Jane dug into her food and John kept carving the turkey.

Another Thanksgiving well celebrated. It was the days after Thanksgiving and we were all full of food but still involved in activities that come only at this time of the year. We spent Friday afternoon at the tree lighting where Jane ran into Els and Matt Traylor who were dancing very rapidly

which we unfortunately could not until later ( see below ). Jane played the flute and Sarah played the piano

it was time to head home. Saturday was a beautiful day. So, Benjamin and Jane and I decided to head out once Jane finished her picture. We walked past the veboten field

On the way home,w e stopped at Jane's thoughtful tree for some final pictures and then ran into Nathaniel

Gentle viewer... I have made no effort to upgrade the presentation of the images that I've just shown. The artists had something in mind when they shot this collection and it would be a mistake for me to try and deconstruct their efforts by doing such questionable things as changing the orientation of their pictures. The art speaks for itself! What follows is a somewhat more mundane retelling of the events of the day Later that day After recording the home events, Mary and Jane walked into town to see the Revolutionary war reenactments in progress. The soldiers' encampment got bigger

Some kind soul recorded Jane and Mary by the cannon as they took this picture

Together, Jane and Rosie took this picture of the triple header atop the wall and then Rosie captured Jane. After this, many adjourned from the heated discussed of the possible need of a Star Wars defense shield to engage in a game of dominoes where Benjamin started with this hand

led to the end of the game. It was Christmas day in Princeton. We had many things planned but began the day with a visit to TASK, the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen, where I took no pictures. We then came home and observed Jane's wound which seemed to be healing as the pistachio nut shells

played NBA Street Smart as Jane watched their game

The day after Christmas, Jane's wound was healing so we decided that we could go to Trenton and the Sovereign Bank Arena

that highlighted the Ja Rule concert. But, we went to the concert anyways. Unfortunately for you they would not let us bring our camera to the concert. Unfortunately for us they didn't bother to tell us this until we had done some time in the waiting line to get patted down for the concert. Things being what they were, we have many happy memories of the concert and Jane has this fine shirt to show for her efforts. Since Jane had her shirt on, Benjamin got together his list of Pokemon cards and Sarah decided that it was time to think about finishing her colelge applications

Everyone seemed to be affected by the events of the day. Sarah had helped Jane with her makeup for the black tie Bat Mitzvah party and so decided to make a fashion statement hereself. Benjamin was worn out from the day and Jane was on the couch waiting for picture time which began with this closeup of her face. We went outside for the picture with shawl on facial closeups (for makeup) and ceremonial pictures under the basketball hoop. All of this activity caused Sarah to highlight her outfit including her belt her shirt and all of her. Next we took a few more pictures of Jane without her shawl followed by this artistically dizzying picture and a picture of Sarah's window to show who the photographer was. It was time to back out the car (notice the exhaust) with Jane and Suzanne aboard to say good bye to the house and leave their parking place empty as they headed off to the Bat Mitzvah. This was for experiments and a few movies Some pictures and some movies MVI_0064.AVI MVI_0064.THM MVI_0065.AVI MVI_0065.THM MVI_0085.AVI MVI_0085.THM and maybe more pictures?

Some text At long last I got my new digital camera. It took forever. The camera went out of stock especially at the discount place where I ordered it to save a dollar and ended up getting a head ache. They kept promising it the next day and it never came, so I ended up just getting it at a local store. So much for shopping on the internet. I decided to experiment a little to learn about the camera. Jane actually experimented quite a bit more than I did. All of the pictures shown here are small versions of the original. The thumbnails are shrunk to 5% of the original size and the pictures that pop up are shrunk to 1/6 of the original size. (Actually 1/2 x 1/3). eventually this will change. There are also movies that should play on Woindows machines if nowhere else. I assembled the camera in my study and took the first picture across the room. Then I recorded the empty chair

that I'd be using for my meeting. Then it was outside where Jane and Benjamin were about to start a basketball game since the line for 3 point shots

had been drawn. Jane moved well without the ball to get in good position

the ball went out of bounds. Jane threw it in and Benjamin got ready

He showed it to Jane. He started to dribble.

Jane recorded her hand and fingers

As an experiment, Jane made this movie MVI_0061.AVI of Benjamin in action with the ring from FristFest It was the beginning of Maother's Day weekend. We began by going to the art and music show at Johnson Park. There hanging from the ceiling was Benjamin's butterfly and then we marched on

to ultimately get Benjamin's soccer shoes on. Jane and Kaylen continued to have their online experience as I heard my shoes

of Jane's breakfast and prepared this vaguely unhealthy food for Benjamin's lunch which looked good

Forget-AllOfUs-Not and so gave her the seeds. Next we gathered Jane and Kaylen to drop them off at the mall

pictures of Benjamin's haircut. After picking up Jane and Kaylen, we did our MVI_0179.AVI traveling movie as we passed through the stop sign along the road

to Kaylen's house. Unfortunately, our battery died so that we couldn't capture Chris mowing his lawn. Once she saw Jane's camera testing, Sarah needed to do the same. She began by making this movie of MVI_0210.AVI Suzanne reading to Benjamin and followed with this artistic black and white from the front porch. Of course, she couldn't resist the urge to record

her foot and Jane's tongue which seem to be the key artifacts of our lives. Jane followed with this movie of Sarah MVI_0214.AVI walking across the family room and then this movie where MVI_0215.AVI Sarah walks upstairs and Suzanne is still reading to Benjamin. Before we knew it, it was Wednesday. To warm us up for Jane's dessert concert, Benjamin took out his violin and played a few tunes. Then we went to the main event. The new camera did not do a good job of capturing the choir

because I have to read the manual more carefully. But, I did capture, Jane, Lucy, Rosie and Kaylen (or is that Adele?), Justin Kulackabacki (aka Kujowski)

and then Jane and Kaylen (real one this time!). On the adult side, Caroline and Michael were there

was not nearly as awake as Jane and Kaylen

while Kaylen and Jane worked at a PS2 game. Jess and Claire arrived to show us their doos front

which inspired Jane to make MVI_0274.AVI this movie and MVI_0275.AVI this movie and take a stream of black and white photos of the flowers and the room

while Jane watched by the chess board. The camera battery died as I recorded Cindy George

Jane and Lucy slept sitting up and Rosie smiled

and then the proceedings mercifully ended. JWMS promotion and the celebration afterwards Jane was far in the corner and hardly visible even with the digital zoom

and Jane got her diploma which really excited the grandparents

until we went outside to assemble the hammock stand and let Jane be the tester before Benjamin

and Jane, Suzanne,

which made Milt and Jane happy as Peter made his point

For your thoughtful inspiration, Jane dutifully recorded this MVI_0815.AVI short video of a discussion about whether the past, the present and the future were abstract concepts or pieces of a number line that could be traversed at any rate during any time. For example, if the present is an ever moving point on the number line, does living in the past just mean that your present occurs at a different time than mine? No food pictures seem to be allowed here Picture from Sarah's graduation ceremony Picture from Jane's graduation party 4102

Before there could be a graduation, there had to be a last day of school. Jane was getting ready as were Sarah

Jane and Sarah were swapping shoe stories as Suzanne

and glad to see Jane on so momentuous an occasion. The crowd was assembling

and Jane made it official that it had truly been a long day. David decided to do some experimentation with doo rags. His interest was a bonding experience with Jane who got him a fine selection for Father's Day. He tried the first one on without the wave cap and liked it very much. This made him very excited about the structure

could hardly stay in his chair much to Jane's amusement and Bill's

to the delight of Jane Kaylen

and Jane and Kaylen looked on. There was an odd shot in camera experimentation

before we had to depart. We also made this movie MVI_1045.AVI MVI_1045.THM It was a nice hot day, so Benjamin, Jane and I decided to drive down to the beach and see what was happening there. Jane chilled with a book while Benjamin went to check the waves and do some jumping

which didn't get Jane to finish her book so he did the hat

For the third straight year, we decided to celebrate Independence Day with Lucy and her family. Caroline brought the July 4th hat which was worn by Jane Lucy

for gin and tonics and then Jane and Lucy and Jane posed with hat without hat

tossed a ball, Jane and Lucy chilled on the deck and after another round of photos

and Jane and Suzanne led the way to the restaurant opposite Lickety Split

for that collection. Jane didn't make the clean plate club which she may regret after eating around the campfire for 2 weeks. We took a picture of the post office

even though it was sponsored by Verizon, the evil empire. Next, we went to drop Jane off at camp. Her group leaders seemed very nice and eventually the Hagadorn's arrived

as Jane finished packing her panniers and then posed with Kaylen

and Jane did her dance pose? after which there were family pictures

dug a swimming pool while Jane, Kaylen and Lucy swam and we admired the sand castles

and so this was the intersection to be recorded. Jane was invited to spend some days visiting Lucy at the beach. So we started by going to the farm stand where they had an elegant facility

and back to back pictures of Jane and Lucy and then repeated the series for their mom's

where Jane and Lucy posed again in front of the old hotel

and then began to bury Jane in the sand. When she re-emerged, it was time to go back to Princeton. So, after gassing up at the slowest gas station ever

we took the trip home for the day knowing that there would be another beach day in our future. Jane and Kaylen stayed up too late one night and these photos are the proof It was Friday night and we were getting ready to go to Ben's concert when Carolyn appeared at our door with this yummy looking pasta dish

after which we noted that Jane had also had a flute concert that day and so took pictures of the musical ones The day ended with this collection picture

as Jane watched and ate her fruit. After a picture of the Mariners shop across the street

Jane posed with Elizabeth her counterpart in the organization. After driving to Avis rental return at SeaTac

we were ready for the long ride back to the hotel so that we could debrief on the day. The next morning, Jane posed at Buck's to allow me to check my camera for the picture of my breakfast

Jacobo returned me to Jane who was happy to see us back in time to capture one last hat picture

on the way home to make sure I wouldn't be traumatized by a camera with a broken battery. Jane was fairly incognito as she got ready to go to New York for an overnight and so had to miss the visit to Sarah's room

where Jane was staying. After a picture of the chandelier, the friezes,

in the lobby, Jane, Kaylen and Courtney arrived but they had to go up to their room to get enough light for the pictures

got ready to enter the parade. Jane was distracted for a moment by this cell phone flag which was perfect except for the girl in the photo who was happy to not pay roaming charges. Panama was next

while Jane and Kaylen had gone to HMV to get some batteries (and probably a little bit of quiet). These groups paraded by

to warm ourselves. Next we saw an exact replica of Jane's cell phone above the police station

before debating whether we could take a picture of Jane and Kaylen in the subway station. On the other end, we were in Washington Square Park watching the dog run

from Dillon basketball games of the 80's and 90's before his legs gave out and he got an honest (well, not totally honest) job on the sidewalks of New York and he said appropriately kind words to Jane about the joys of being my child. Wit Fiorello La Guardia to guide us, the trip down town was easy. We took these pictures of T shirts that define grammar

to help Jane achieving a deeper understanding. Sarah and I headed into town. We met a photographer and so recorded the colors and trees

and Jane was buried in her work as Benjamin thought about cleaning the floor

as Jane downloaded an episode of the Simpsons for her English project. The table was set

as Jane got back to work and Benjamin took a few pictures of me

to the assembled masses so that we could end the weekend and prepare for the new week. It was Halloween, a day for many celebrations and so Jane put on her ears and we went to breakfast

before heading off. That night, it was time for trick or treat'ing in earnest. Jane and Lucy were ready even when Rosie joined them

as Jane posed for more head shots and with her friends

and she and Jane posed before getting into the car so that we could drive past Jamesburg's old gas station pumps

which kept Jane and Lucy busy and Benjamin hidden

were not highly successful though they filled the time until our drinks came -- hot chocolate for Jane, apple juice for Ben,

sausage for Jane hashed browns for Lucy (since her twin sister had ordered enough food for 2)

to see if it really tasted like fish. Then, Jane ate her bagel with lox which did taste like fish. I was the closest to the clean plate club

in time for Jane to do her Eminem imitation which did not amuse the man who took this picture

Sarah and Jane were ready to go so we thanked the chef

and then joined Jane and Benjamin for a group photo as the hula hoop contest

which really amused Suzanne, Sarah and Jane and brought Benjamin to the floor

and Sarah and Jane sat on the sidelines hoping that their matriarchs would enjoy this conversation

and Sarah, Jane and Benjamin as the line formed

so Jane could record vacation memories to send to her friends. Saturday night, we reassembled at Andy's house where Ben had this sandwich and Sarah had this one

were probably wondering why Jane was laughing as the fire slowed down

to the room at which point Jane decided to take some artistic (ie black and white) pictures of the books and the plant

as Milt and Jane watched and we saved Sam's Nintendo game

and Jane awake as the television rolled

Jane Norma

were amazed that Jane would try to huff and puff and blow the city

and Jane while Lewis chatted away

posed for some mother and daughter pictures as Jane showed her Raisin Bran until it was time for us to take the elevator

collection. Norma, Jane and Milt sat on the couch as Ben leaned over

before Jane mailed her postcards as we got ready to drive to the airport. Once at the airport, this man

The delay in takeoff gave Jane and I a chance to meet these girls (11th and 12th grade at Rochester high) who made our sandwiches for dinner. Suzanne and Jane started to eat as Sarah made her fashion statement

and Jane showed the salami Ben the turkey

assembled in my living room including Jane, Kaylen and Lucy who had caught a ride home with me. In the kitchen, Carolyn

came back tot he kitchen. None of this seemed to have an impact on Jane/Lucy and Kaylen

until we got some tomatoes to buffer the strong flash. Suzanne admired Jane's school photos as Jane did a before and after comparison and the 3 of them posed together

for a closer look as Jane and Lucy headed for the computers and Kaylen

Jane's new faces untilt he morning came and the girls

sat down for one more cup of coffee. It all began when I decided to see how many pictures I could take on a low battery before it dies. Since Jane was sitting next to me, she became the subject and this was the result This was all on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, and Ben and Joel were bowling

that Jane was preparing was almost ready for Ben and Joel

for the next day's feast. Jane came home from school excited having gotten the right count of the number of Swedish fish in the bag. So we decided to celebrate by going to a movie and this was our view driving back up Witherspoon street of the road ahead

as Jane admired the pasta

Jane and Sarah

of the main event. Jane and Sarah

wondered what Matt and Jane were discussing. Benjamin

as Jon and Jane were playing this game

as Jane Sarah and Suzanne

and Jane had this

sans flash. Jane and her English project team were recreating Chutes and Ladders as Homer

were welcoming Jane, Fred and Lissie and food preparations

Jane's necklace my shirts

pondered what was next and Jane and Kevin

for fork pictures and Jane came home to look around the table

and then we were back to Jane and the long shot across the table

but first we had to get Jane, Ben and Kaylen off the computers to watch and this is what they saw

and Jane weren't so sure of this and Benjamin managed to disappear leaving this empty space

who were enjoying the penny histogram and happy to not discuss horse hair. Jane and her class had spent the entire fall reading the Odyssey. Indeed it was their odyssey through the Odyssey and soon they would have spent more time on the book than the original trip took. To celebrate what we thought was the end of the book -- what did we know -- they had an odyssey celebration at which they showed their projects. We started to explore and admired the chess set the board game

did his raincoat over the head imitation and Jane was only giving side views even as Fred's story

and Jane had good breakfasts as I checked out the pennies

of things to do with Peanut Butter, Marshmellow Fluff, ... Sarah and Jane and Benjamin

but couldn't take pictures untilt he show was over and then Jane and I posed with one of the Blue Men as the others waited

which inspired Jane to make her washed out face but my picture

Jane and Ben

PNC Bank I went to with DrLen was the most interesting of all. Some of the rolls were just shiny new pennies. But, others came with character. You could read the person's account number on the side of the roll and feel like they were sharing a part of their life with you. In the days before Xmas, I made the mistake of journeying out to Sam's Club and getting caught in an horrendous traffic jam. Fortunately, Jane was with me at the time and reminded me that I had the camera and so could record what it was that I was seeing inside the car and out and around the lot. If you had been here with us, these were the scenes you would have seen from my vantage point until this sign

find something in the refrigirator as Rosie, Kaylen and Jane admired Kaylen's new cell phone

and Jane and Kaylen finished their games. Melissa posed for the obligatory photos

as Kaylen and Jane got ready to go on our excursion which began (as do all good excursions)

and Jane were waiting for us as Martha drank her tea

we caught another picture and one of Jane before noticing Willa's Bling Bling shirt

and Jane and Fred decided to do Blair Witch project pictures. Next, Jane took many pictures of us in our unusual costumes as Sarah paced

didn't seem to care if Jane and Suzanne ever appeared. But it was time to start our journey with Nathaniel

Jane Ben and Suzanne

and at the wedge, Jane and Suzanne crossed as Nathaniel

until Jane and Fred arrived and sat down

Fred's burger (Jane had the same thing) Ben's grilled cheese

made it eating time. I showed Jane how I was progressing and she did the same

before we decided to depart. We took a picture of Jane and Fred at the movies (where they went a few hours later) and then went to CVS to look for pomade

as Jane displayed her purchases

before heading to Joel's birthday party. Jane modeled her nails as the boys cleared the car

we had to leave to go get Jane at the movie. She and her friends were eating and had gathered a wonderful collection of ketchup

when I needed an extra picture. Then, it was back to sledding. Here are Jane and Benjamin working their way up the hill so that Ben could think

about his next run as Jane watched and Edna walked by

shock Jane as she gathered the pots

which caused Jane to appear happy to be removed from her biology report

and Jane and Lucy made weird faces and Lucy watched

and Jane got up to serve the pizza

as Jane was online Benjamin was playing chess

as Jen tried to get Jane to look better

had Jane excited as they insisted on taking group pictures

and then had to head home. The next day, I helped Jane lift the paper and look inside

where we were able to have a long frank discussion from which I hope a wonderful relationship between Princeton and Microsoft will emerge. It was Jane's fifteenth birthday and so Kaylen came and the 2 of them tried to get the perfect picture and so we gave it a lot of tries before deciding that they were all good. Fred and Lucy

were amused as Jane flipped the channels and Ben

were focussed on their ordering as Jane did her face thing that convinced me to get back to artistic photos of beer bottles

Meanwhile, Jane began to read her gift scrap book while the cake arrived

and 2 posters for Jane's ceiling and we were ready for the pictures of the menu with flash

for the collection, we called it a night and vowed to start celebrating again the next day which was the real birthday. But first we had to pause to give Jane many many hours to work on her anthology and for Sarah and Ed to think about breaking into the house (but I was asleep then and so there are no photos). Back to reality, the next day was Jane's true birthday and more gifts had appeared on the festive table

from Olive's. Ben ground stones for Jane who wore the birthday hat and a scarf from yesterday

we made for her. Jane's sandwich looked good so Benjamin

and Jane huffed and puffed

and then we toasted Jane and declared her fifteen. My birthday felt that it had come and gone but there were still a group who showed up to watch Benjamin

for Jane's BLT with fires

and Jane's Orangina to wash down his

as Jane's sat waiting for her while I photographed the fun house mirror

and we were ready to have a feast. Kaylen came and she and Jane posed but first Jane sucked on her straw then Kaylen looked down

and Jane posed and then Jane took this picture of mine while the toast

Jane's burger platter and my salad

but he passed to Jane who studied the hoop

and Jane's tropical punch water ices. Then it was time to look at the hat

while Jane and Benjamin finished their water ices and we continued on past the store with the Sponge Bob T shirts

and bought Jane these bracelets and left to get Suzanne but not before we took a picture of Len and Judy

to record the end of a nice weekend. Even though it was April Fool's Day, Jane decided to take pictures of the plants for her biology experiment before fading to white

couldn't watch, so that Jane took this picture and then went into heavy experimental mode

as did Jane as Ben

showed how a newly turned 9 year old reads a book. That morning, I taught Jane's geometry class and the one after it with Justin

while in the other room, Jane Kevin

It started like a normal Sunday. First, Jane did her Sarah imitation and then we took a picture of the new Bose

for a room mate picture. Jane overcame her shyness to show her face

was over. Chag Sa'meach to all. It was Easter Sunday and a very beautiful day. Jane was lying in the hammock with her book but the thought of seeing a peacock

as Jane pondered her book

sent Jane then the Davidson's

for their lunch. None of this excited Jane or Benjamin

liked having Jane join them and were impassive

gave Jane a hug we headed off to our next event. Along the way, we stopped at home and saw Pam

as Jane compared cell phones

and Jane heard Marybeth

were still to come. Another very pleasant evening and tasty dinner. Jane's experiment continues and here is what she recorded on April 27, 2003 7313

Jane was typing away while the rest of us got in the car and drove to Johnson Park where Suzanne

on the sidelines. So inspired were we that the next day we went to FristFest. Jane and Rachel pose here with their charicature after which Rachel took pictures of the 3 of us

and so was prepared. Jane played with her split ends as Suzanne read the paper

amused Jane as our drinks came

and Jane had a chicken sandwich to accompany my falaffels

image. Happy Mother's Day to all. Time marches on for Jane's plants and here is the view on May 12, 2003 before the writeup was due. 7375

was ready for the company. Jane made her way down the steps in time for the arrival of the Dobbs-Allsop's

filled Jane's tooth. Comcast CN-8 came out to do a story about collectors and their personalities. Here were Nicole Fox, the reporter, and Shannon, the cameraman, getting pictures of the family while Sarah and Suzanne

on Thursday. If anyone could enable time travel, the university librarian could. Saturday began with Jane dressed up and after she opened her eyes

Sarah's (and David's and Jane's) enchilladas and Suzanne's tostada

as Jane Benjamin

and look down at Jane and Fred who turned to acknowledge our presence

focussing on Jane and Fred while Inspector Gadget

before Jane returned to tune for her solo which went smoothly

worried Jane and Fred but amused Sarah and Claire

of a very happy meal and a wonderful celebration that ranks with in our happy memories. It was time for one last trip west before entering the big house where my time won't be my own. Wonder of wonders, we ran into Jane's parents at Newark airport. They wouldn't have been nearly as happy if they knew that this meal

gave us serious Father's Day service as Jane had arranged. Next morning there were the strawberries as Jane prepared me for another day along with this breakfast

tried not to look too happy to see me go. On the other end, Jane tried not to look too impatient about having me arrive. We were early for our first stop, so we stopped at the Java Street Cafe for strawberries

as Jane expressed utter joy knowing that I would capture this picture

as Jane posed with flat Dan Warmenhoven before she took the shots of 2 men in blue shirts

together with Jane marvelled at the wonders of digital photography. The last stop of Wednesday was at the offices of Sutter Hill where this formal photo of Jane with Paul Wythes led to these informal pictures

seemed to put Jane in the right mood for the pear based salad

as Jane had even more strawberries to the amusement of Tom Kessler

who then rode off on his motorcycle but not before posing with Jane and me

Jane could have her pasta and Jacobo could have his bread and juice

the complex maneuvers of my descent much to the relief of Jane who didn't realize what came next. Once back on terra firma, we headed off to see ChefRob who posed in his PuCS hat

to get Jane and Rob ready for the bowling team photo

Jane got her cheeseburger

now that work was done. We took the obligatory ocean pictures of Jane and me

without being blurred. Back at home, Jane's posse assembled the next night to say good bye to Dan who posed here with the hostess

and Jane and Dan chatted while Lucy and Anna

so that we could get on to the beach. Once there, Kaylen and Jane enjoyed the sun as Ben and Suzanne read

and Jane happy to decorate their hot dogs

After lunch we hit the beach and Benjamin, Jane and Kaylen got themselves mighty wet Our final trip to the Boardwalk got Kaylen this stuffed dog

and pick up Jane so that we could drive to MarketFair ad park in a controversial manner

Jane chose red and Benjamin green

as Jane Ben

be taken by Jane who smirked at the idea. The sugar pictures

Jane had a Shirley Temple Ben had lemonade

Jane her burger Ben his pizza

made us feel good as we completed our celebration of a wonderful birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUZANNE!! We had done as much celebrating of Suzanne's birthday as was possible, so it was time to take Jane to her summer program at Smith. We decided on wheels up at 1000 but unfortunately this was our speed a little late

and ordered. Jane feigned tiredness as Benjamin read

for posterity. Jane was nice enough to capture this sign in the ladies room since the men's room had no such requirement and so we could take pictures of their massive ovens

and then went in. Jane forgot that she was posing for a picture

had too much light on him but Jane's salad and Suzanne's (note the yellow carrots!)

where Jane and Ben waited while I captured this picture

for the collection and once seated, Suzanne and Jane studied the menu

and the dorms for Jane's program where the slogans

and Jane, the address as it got set up

kept us going, we dropped Jane off and hit the road making good time back to New Jersey where we stopped at Bennigan's for dinner. The men's room had this collection sign

of electrical engineering in the days that followed. Four weeks had quickly passed and so it was time to drive back to Smith and pick up Jane. Since we were also heading for a reunion with the Seems, Kaylen came along and had a final hug with her mother before Adele

where we were able to see Jane from the back as we all watched

They would have won the game if only I hadn't given the wrong answer. After a few pictures of Jane's friends without and with

we headed back to Smith to get Jane. After a picture with 2 good friends we did the packing ritual

and then took a picture of Jane with her friend and then captured the people from Hanover

and Jane snapped these pictures of the fathers before my portabella sandwich

Jane and Suzanne

Jane and Kaylen

and Jane and Sarah were ready as was Suzanne

which amused Suzanne, Sarah and Jane who were eventually joined by Ben looking down

so Jane and I could go bring Sarah her shoes at the MCUDL

since Jane's photos were not done. After paying for the gum we went to the library

for Jane. 8781

until we realized we might miss the plane. But, alas thanks to some serious dashing through airports, we got on the plane and Sarah and Jane and Ben and Suzanne

of the rental courtesy van until we got to La Jolla where Jane summarized our modd as Dansyl

where Janet and Larry

as Jane and then Benjamin

joined while Janet went looking for Suzanne

(sans Janet). Later, Suzanne and Ben gathered by water's edge so that Benjamin could bring back this seaweed

and Jane though this salad

seemed to enjoy Jane and Benjamin

to the amusement of Sarah and Jane as the Kogans

and then nibbled on Jane's toes before we bound her feet

as Sarah and Jane settled in and Norma

served some food that caused Jane to express an opinion about the knitting Suzanne

and Jane watched. Sarah took these pictures of me

were taken before Jane decided to go into black and white mode and record a flower iced tea bottles

Jane Katie

then Jane and as we were ready to drive off, there was some motion in the kitchen

as Jane's cheese steak and Ben's turkey hoagie

as Jane appeared for the back to school pictures

was ready to be set. Meanwhile, Jane And Fred were in her room and Ben was on the second floor

and Jane showed the hole in her knee which has a long and tragic story of a walk to Rosie's house. The bar

for the success of the catering department. On Saturday (the 11th), Jane wished us well as Ben

as Jane and Kaylen worked and Jane made faces. DrLen

were photographed and Jane and Lucy did the famous 2 hands / 1 glove pose. Suzanne and I posed with the sign

and Jane considered getting a rest but there was no escaping the discussion

for a final celebration. By tradition, all schools close down for a Thursday and Friday in November to give teachers a chance to catch up on their shopping. It's good for the local economy, it gives the kids a much needed break and it usually causes a nightmare for parents who need to find child care for those days. As veterans of this phenomenon, we knew we had to plan something. Jane is int he choir and they decided to use this time to go to Vienna and Budapest to explore other realms and their musical roots. Oddly they scheduled the trip so as to miss as little school as possible -- a departure from the past. Jane was going to room with Jill and seemed happy

Janet had brought. So our table was Ben Sylvia

Janet Linda

was doing laundry and Jane was getting ready to go to Cranbury. Along the way, we saw this Ferarri

and Jane's appearance led to her disappearance

while waiting for Jane to emerge for a stop at the Wawa where this sad sign

Sally and Jane, and Andy and Milt

Jane and Milt and himself

in video games. Jane and Sarah talked about the turkey

and Jane was thrilled when Kara

for only 105 calories as Jane and Sarah

and Jane watching as I tried to take a self portrait

and a picture with Jane in the Blair Witch mode. The food came

and Norma and Jane and Milt

while Jane slept and Red Teddy

and once Jane finished packing we braved the car

of whether Jane's falling asleep and Ben's playing a PS2 game

As Jane played a game But in a few secs

And then, on Xmas morning, Jane had to knit But Benjamin was there

still unable to answer the philosophical question of whether they prepared suicide bombers to serial killers. Later, in the kitchen, Jane made her cake

kept Jane busy as Suzanne and Ben

as Jane, Michelle Soffen and her friend did their cheaper by the trio pose before we headed off. Suzanne took the order

as they played their music library. Once at Sunny Garden, Suzanne and Jane and then Ben

to get a picture of Suzanne with her eyes opened. Jane was knitting and found some respect for the camera

the feedback before Jane encouraged Peter

Jane, Kaylen's wedding camera,

ready for action. Jane gave me a wonderful book as the other presents waited

and Jane got memory and a camera

while Jane checked out her gifts to Ben's amusement

then Jane then Sarah again

spread her yarn while Jane watched the game as the boys posed

and then went to a movie where we saw Jane, Weiss and Kevin before recording our group

first Ben and Jane then Sarah and David

after which we took our first Sarah and Jane sitting picture and went off to see the wildebeast

as Jane made her picture for Kaylen Sarah colored the red kneed tarantula

for the drive to South Philly and a few more Sarah and Jane pictures one better than the other and a picture of David and Ben

for the last Jane and Sarah picture as Ben

were ready for the food. Jane had the chicken soup Judy had the salad

so that we could eat and head back to the country. Two days had passed and Suzanne flew back. Jane and I drove to Philadelphia airport to meet her plane. Since we were all hungry, we decided to get off the expressway and look for a place to eat. We found this place en route to the party store

where Jane explored hats and noise makers

took our money, discussed higher mathematics (I could never figure out what half of $3.50 was) and offered lunch suggestions that amused Suzanne and Jane so that we got back int he car, passed the water ice stand

seemed to represent perfection. Suzanne and Jane studies the sandwich and then started to dig in

arrived which caused Jane and Suzanne to put the lobster pot

before Jane did her hat thing, Sara sliced the pears

got Jane into the car and we drove on until we saw this Baltimore scene

from Sarah. She liked Jane's hair which went off limits

was set out. As Jane checked out Jack Sylvia

got Sarah, Emma and Jane to pose

Janet Dickerson (VP for Campus Life) Bob Barnett (Vice Provost)

was the remains of Jane's sleepover with the empty bottle from the night before still on the table as Kaylen and Lulu

and Jane and Fred had tiredness contests. The winners

as Jane showed us her math test

as we took one last look at Jane's exam and headed off to pick up the others. We parked the car

and did even more poses. Next came Jane's card Ben's card

as was Jane when the first food

while Jane and Lulu watched as the big cards

and I talked to Jane as an incognito person

for Jane as Sarah escaped the presents and did this gallery

to the amusement of Jane and Sarah

came by. The celebrations started a few days before. We didn't even invite Jane. But, first Dean Karlan (who is not a dean) came by to visit. Then, I went to meet Michele

when trying to maneuver in a narrow place. On Jane's actual birthday, We recalled her previously recorded birthdays and then began the day's events. I had a faculty lunch with

and Jane had one

and Jane was made blissful by flowers

to get a proper self portrait because of the horn. Then, Jane modeled one and the other

Jane went at it until all were out

which inspired Jane to start with the clothes while Ben brought out his library book

away from the bright gold as Jane tried on more clothes and we made more progress

Happy Birthday Jane!!!! It was time to have the official celebration of Jane's birthday in preparation for the sing-a-long of the Wizard of Oz at McCarter. We ordered pizza and made salad

said good bye to Jane while the others

and place it before Jane who blew out all but 1 candle

advised us. After getting a sign for Jane's Armani collection we went to Mrs. Fields

and Janet had stirfry for the first of 2 days in a row. After a few bad tries at getting my profile

we began the self-profile contest (JTS would be proud) with Janet Sylvia

amused Jane while Ben

came to interview me about tenure. That evening, Suzanne and Jane led our way to the school where the flash

Jane and Suzanne

came to sit with Jane Suzanne

which finally worked though Jane had more problems with hers as Jack and Linda

was celebrating Jane's history teacher as we followed the traffic

as Jane acknowledged the culinary choices and the dress code

to Maryland's finest. Once inside, Jane picked the food

in the game that mattered. Jane appeared and posed with Ben and then with Suzanne

and a reluctant Janet who eventually got with the plan

as Suzanne, Jane and Ben sat as DanSyl

joined Fran. Meanwhile, Sarah and Janet and Jane and Suzanne were watching the conversation

before the ceremony began. After the ceremony, Jane, Fran and Michelle did the sister thing while Ben

as Jane and Eric and then Barbara too

for their collection of pictures to the amusement of Janet and Larry and Dick and Fran

had slipped away so that Jane had to join me and then pose alone

then Janet and Larry and finally Larry and Suzanne

posed as did Ben, Suzanne and Jane and Fran, Dick and Janet while Dick brought Eric to the table of the next generation

showed the effects of sleep but Janet and Larry

greeted Larry and Janet as Betsy ate

ate though Dick and Jane (remember reading about them) posed without baby Sally. Not to be outdone, Fran

and then Sarah and Jane posed for picture triples before Sarah and Emily

so that we could have a family portrait. At this point, Larry and Janet were feeling lonely, so Sarah and Dick agreed to pose as their children so that their whole family could be represented at the wedding. After saying our good byes to Rachel and Toba

tried to capture the image and Jane and Pat watched

though Jane slept through the journey until we got to Market Fair

during which time Jane's text and card

appeared. Jane tried on the necklace as Sarah

and Jane watched as Sarah showed her blister

and Jane watched Sarah

and Jane's many attempts at profile got lots of Suzanne and a little of Jane whose expression of horror was undoubted derived from a bad photo

came to take my picture. It was to be the last visit to Ligonier before the closing a few days later, so we gathered the family and Jane got in the car at 7 minutes before wheels up time

until Ben and Jane were seated and this self portrait

Jane's salad and Ben's burger

before calling it a day. The next morning, Jane was wondering about the Romaine label

on the property. Back at the cabin, Jane spoke to the owl and the owl

and Jane and Ben

and Norma, Jane and Ben sat down and Ben

as Norma and Jane sat and Ben

pretended to be oblivious to Jane and Milt even as Norma joined them

as Jane was amused by the cake

and Jane waited as Maxine chatted with Norma

and Jane watched so that we knew it was time for group photos

shared Bloody Mary's as Bob amused Jane and Katy joined

were in the darkness that also captured Jane as Ben hid

and Jane could eat as Herb and his brother

and spoke with Jane as conversations continued

spoke and Jane wondered what Suzanne and the caterers

and Jane spoke with Haim and Norma

to get Ben and Jane into the same frame even as I shot over everyone's head and then got a few crowd shots

and Jane captured Ben as her feet

as Jane got in the car and we drove to the bagel factory

and Jane her Boardwalk fries as Suzanne explored the gift shop

Maia K. Schweizer each posing with her artwork for me to see. On the way home, I ran into Jane who was on her way to a history review session. On Wednesday, I had a faculty lunch for

that was going to take the bride and groom away from their wedding. Saturday evening, as Jane and Ben

to the Behrmann dinner but not before Jane took these pictures of us for posterity. Once at the dinner, we met Eve Ascheim (Visual Arts) and her husband

Jane Curry and Anne St. Mauro of facilities. On Wednesday,

at least partially opened. It was Friday May 7 and everything seemed like normal until we got to the Valley Road Building where Jane was supposed to take her AP exam. Once there, we discovered that there had been a lightning strike at the school and so everything was closed for the day. So, John and Frank and Fred and Jane and Kaylen

to amuse Jane as Kaylen and Frank

who is Jane's age and works 40 hours per week. After taking a self portrait and a profile

which made Martha make a call to Jane and Bill wonder

as the day was done. The next day was Sunday (May 9) and we celebrated Mother's Day as we had in the past so we got Jane up off the couch and Suzanne

showed Jane the mother's day flowers

and Jane posed by the tree for the first (of many) sets of passport pictures. Then we got into the car

before Jane took a good profile and a few not so good

and then Jane crossed the street to talk to Fred while we ran into Rush and Heidi

and waiting for Jane to appear and cross the street so that we could go to the Gap which is soon to close. Once there, Jane tried on a hat I explored 3 shirts

to find my colors and Jane tried another hat before Ben and I escaped to the fountain

by hiding under a pillow case. We wish our president would be put under a pillow case but more on that later. On Sunday May 16, Jane tried on Suzanne's robes until she got it right front

for a once-in-seventeen years experience. On Tuesday May 18, Suzanne and Jane led the way to Johnson Park where Tony

and Jane before parking next to this car

explain why our paperwork was not in order for Ben and why our picture was not good for Jane. So, it will be another journey. It started on the 23rd of May, when Sarah assembled her friends for a salad dish

and Jane was incognito about finishing her food

Jane appeared distracted and Alan

decided to stay home and build as Jane joined us for our walk to town where we ran into Noah and Hank Dobin

as Jane marveled at the honor guard

passed by though they couldn't get Jane to babysit. The patriots and fife and drum corps

inspired Jane to get this muffin as more patriots came

to join us at the P-Rade. We said good bye to Jane who was canoeing with her friends and went on to see Erik Sorenson (Chemistry)

as we admired Jane's fingers which seemed to inspire Seva

one each of Jane and Suzanne

and Jane's salad in better light

and Jane before I captured her

before coming back to Princeton to see Jane's friends and bring her and Ben

It was Suzanne's birthday, so just as we have done in and many years when we took no pictures, we celebrated. Jane Suzanne

and Jane's chicken Caesar accompanied Ben's burger

but not herself. As the meal progressed, we took more family photos of Jane Suzanne

and Jane before capturing Ben

Jane and Suzanne

showed up for her birthday photos after which Jane got ready and she and Suzanne

and Jane as I experimented between profile

Jane and I went to Olive's and took pictures of the owner even as he told us the story of his children. We were a minute early for wheels up

which Ben and Jane continued to sing in the elevator even as we headed out to dinner at the Border Cafe

and Jane's chicken skewers after which we recorded these signs

as Kaylen and Jane chatted Ben

which looked like a prison. Jane and Kaylen were amused as Chris

and had Jane wash the windows as Sarah got the all important key

Jane and Sarah

and headed home where Jane and Fred seemed happy enough to have my attempts at self portraits

made her phone call. Amazing as it seems, Cory Davidson is getting married! Because of the travel involved, we got up early and I had Jane take this picture of me

emerged Jane and we were off. We were early to pick up Sarah and so went to the WaWa where we saw Bill Flemmer

and Jane dug into a sandwich as Sarah

before taking Jane back for another sandwich. And wise they were to eat because this meal

came to visit and Jane and Sarah

and headed up to see Larry and Janet where the bowls were

and posed with Sarah and Suzanne and occasionally Jane as their mother and father

Jane and Ben

along with Janet's cousin convinced me to have this fruit plate

and Jane finished her apple as there was more swimming

for Jane. I said good bye to Ben in the pool and made my way past the real rehearsal people

flew out of the frame and Suzanne and Jane came down the hall as Suzanne posed

before heading down to admire Janet's quilt with the troups

and Janet and Dansyl and then Janet and Syl as Dan

as Ben and Jane got together their sign

and OtherJane arrived to be part of the core Team Suzanne team. Once at the race sight, we were directed to parking

to the amusement of OtherJane who seems to believe that a house should have less rather than more -- a concept that is very foreign to the rest of us. After my self portrait

as Jane and friends and Judith and Carol

arrived as Jane and her team wondered if we could get a good picture of Steven Just

came to chat and then Jane and I found these shoes hanging over power lines after which Leah Targone

before the end of the week. On Friday, the teachers all were off shopping, so Jane put on her hat and ate this sandwich

and Jane and Lucy posed as we came to the crazy house where they displayed a television and wheel chair

as Lucy and Jane hugged and were happy to not be this dead rat

as Jane looked at the drinks

to Ben as Lucy and Jane showed off their shoes and we made our way past the town festival sign

decided that Jane needed this medication

would get watched by Jane and John

arrived to be greeted by Jane even as Justin

were at work, Jane was serving the postgame food and Ben

and Jane even as Amv came back with Sarah

Jane (of bulging eyes) and I (of self portrait)

were thinking though Jane's eyes seemed to lose their bulge as the wine

amuse Jane as her plate

with the various settings of the camera. Friday, Jane rushed hair blown to sing as Sam, Debbie and Katy

Jane Suzanne

as Jane prepared to head to her luncheon (to which we were not invited) and 3 generations of Gespass women posed

and Jane got us ready for our movie excursion. Sunday morning, people assembled int he kitchen

and Jane ate bagels

and Jane and Ben

moved his truck but wouldn't allow me to take his picture. I picked up Jane and we drove to the airport parking here and catching the bus here

and watch him read Jane's copy of The Catcher in the Rye while he shared his book with Jane but unfortunately it was unreadable. My meal was no better than Jane's except for the main course

and Janet who was incognito. Next morning, Janet was happier as I played with the computer

and Jane acknowledged that we were in The OC

and captured Jane before she started talking on the phone

and headed off to watch Princeton play basketball (not a pretty sight this season). A few days later, we celebrated Jane's birthday as we'd done for the previous 5 years: though she does seem to get older each year. Jane put on her gift sweatshirt and we surveyed the decorations

and that Jane had her magic wand Ben had his food

while Jane was excited as Sarah

and recorded all of them on film. Friday, Jane and I went to see Kasia Hertz in the Tiger Card Office where she set things up
