to start the meal. David had pizza nicely prepared by this server.

were about to get trounced by waves as David and Benjamin went back to the water and got a shell

as David recorded the location for future trips. On the way out, David took this picture for our collection of similar signs. It was Labor Day weekend, Sarah was away on her retreat and the rest of us decided we had to do something that was a fun celebration of the end of summer. Jane finished calling Els and started to get ready

and David were happy to engage the waitress

David had ravioli with portobella mushrooms Els had fettucinni

came home and spurred us to action. So, David got dressed up and announced that wheels up time would be 1400 hours. This caused the rest of them

causing Olivia to take this picture of Suzanne and David as we gazed over at her table

It all started a few weeks before Thanksgiving when David was giving a talk to a group of alumni and decided to take a picture of the audience. Then the next week, there was the massive soccer game between Melissa and Benjamin played with the Zolo blocks

slugged it out on Madden 2001 as David watched. It took many tries

since he would be driving later. Someone managed to capture this rare picture of David who seemed to have caught some of Sarah's wooziness. And, we got one of the last pictures of Nancy

then David and Lauren and Suzanne

and posed with Sarah who closed her eyes. David and Paige did the Egyptian couple routine (or more likely the American family on an Egyptian cruise routine) as Suzanne

allowing space for David Kroenlein Later that night, Sarah snuck out for her pictures of Ivy Lane, the chia tigers,

watched David and Ben play chess Well, it wasn't really Sylvia's birthday yet when we had the ice cream

that it had truly been a long day. David decided to do some experimentation with doo rags. His interest was a bonding experience with Jane who got him a fine selection for Father's Day. He tried the first one on without the wave cap and liked it very much. This made him very excited about the structure

to the gathering. David enjoyed the expertise to get a good doo rag tryout because he got the wave right which is a little useless if you don't have an Afro and very useless if you don't have hair. Michelle arrived

and David She also brought this hat for Suzanne

and David had a pleasant chat with the waitress

and David enjoyed wraps

which David could center only after many tries and then a fly celebrated by climbing into his wine glass

to be ready for what came next. What came next were the hand pictures of David Ben

and David fall into stupors that could only be relieved when Jane's cookies

arrived along with David's steamed milk and Kaylen's eclair.

David's cannoli took many tries before the light was right

for this final photo. It was the weekend. A lot of people came into our lives and a lot of people left. More of our family than usual took pictures including some artistic work. We recorded much of it. Despite the appearances reflected in this web page, we did spend a fair amount of the weekend out of the house. We just recorded very little of that activity. To set the context, it was the beginning of fall break, so Sarah was quite happy to be home for a few days and David was happy to have his responsibilities reduced, though he should really have been writing that grant proposal rather than playing with the camera. It all started on Saturday when this was Benjamin's reaction to the rain and to the thought of going to the football game with Harvard, though we did manage to catch the second quarter and to show the Tigers how to score a touchdown, though our lesson didn't seem to take. After dinner, the gang assembled

and David and Norma while the birds had a moment's peace

then the Davidson's to the bread lines. This sculpture

It was Mother's Day and we were excited to celebrate once again as we had memories of Mother's Days past To prepare for the event, David noted these signs at work the day before and so was prepared. Jane played with her split ends

These were a few days of massive celebrations of things real and imagined. We shifted time as we needed to in order to facilitate schedules. It all began for David with lunch with Karin Trainer on Thursday. If anyone could enable time travel, the university librarian could. Saturday began with Jane dressed up

Sarah's (and David's and Jane's) enchilladas and Suzanne's tostada

which made for a wonderful meal before David began opening presents and modelled the 2 ties and then tied them

we were ready to go to Eckerd to get these supplies for David's trip as Sarah considered how best to dress her Nalgene

and David bought this flag from the Italian cashier

before I hooked up with David Treadwell to get things going on our joint MSFT-PUCS project. After giving Janice

made her phone call. Amazing as it seems, Cory Davidson is getting married! Because of the travel involved, we got up early and I had Jane take this picture of me

with Brent Shaw (Classics), David August (Computer Science), Maria Pino Martin (Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering), Susan Fiske (Psychology), Dmitri Tymoczko (Music), Robert Calderbank (Program in Applied and Computational Math, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics), and Angela Creager (History). Now we were ready for Hallowe'en. So, Ben's costume was made and tried on

and we went in to meet Davide the owner and to admire the table overcloth

which made us feel that we might keep next year's reservation. Before departing we had a picture with Davide and Cindy and Spice in the hotel's kitchen taken by this helper

before heading to the Nobel Prize dinner to celebrate our physicists -- David Gross (other side of Shirley) and Frank Wilczek who was with his wife Betsy Devine

that Josephine had found. It was early May and after talking with David Blei who I hope with join Computer Science and Bernard Chazelle who is already there on the 5th I decided to take the next day off and drive to Philadelphia where I came to Tony Lukes

and David Szabo a good prom as Suzanne did the same with Michael

Chris Eisgruber, Shirley Tilghman, Bob Rawson, amd David Dobkin who seem responsible for the parade and get to march last. Then Mark B appeared and Edwin
