Pictures of 12.23.02 -- A day in the city -- Blue Man Group

This was the day we had planned to spend in the city, so Ben ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0001 and Jane had good breakfasts ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0002 as I checked out the pennies ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0003 in the process of being sorted to the approval of Sarah ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0004 who thought it was time to go.
So we got to the car ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0005 and Suzanne ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0006 led us in as Mr. Sferra's truck ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0007 showed that he was hard at work. We parked the car ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0008 in space 28 and bought tickets and ran ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0009 for the train being careful not to be executed ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0010 for causing trouble.
At the other end, we walked down the narrow passageway ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0011 to the subway ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0012 to 4th Street where we found the sign for Peanut Butter Co. ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0013 headed there ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0014 and decided to go in ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0015 for lunch. The menu ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0016 was impressive as was the decor ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0017 and miniature gift shop ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0018 ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0019 of things to do with Peanut Butter, Marshmellow Fluff, ... Sarah and Jane ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0020 and Benjamin ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0021 and me ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0022 and Suzanne ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0023 were enjoying the decor ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0024 ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0025 but were really ready for the Elvis sandwich ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0026 the spicy chicken and peanut butter ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0027 the ants on a log ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0028 and the more traditional fare ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0029 ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0030 ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0031 we had there. The bathroom had the right signs ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0032 and the right pictures ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0033 ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0034 so we left happily ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0035 and headed to Washington Square ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0036 to take the ceremonial picture.
As we turned onto Lafayette Street, we saw the play in the distance ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0037 and then closer ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0038 until we went in ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0039 but couldn't take pictures untilt he show was over and then Jane and I posed with one of the Blue Men ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0040 ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0041 as the others waited ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0042 for us to head ever onwards. From the back, he was still blue ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0043 and I could record the signs ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0044 recording the rules.
We walked back to Broadway and went to fcuk ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0045 And Aldo ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0046 so that we could take the obligatory phone booth picture ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0047 as the street scene unfolded ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0048 and we headed to lighting plus ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0049 and H&M ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0050 ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0051 where this sign ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0052 was ignored by Benjamin ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0053 as he finished his game in front of the store ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0054 where the others were shopping. The grate below ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0055 looked like this and the dirt and butts ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0056 came out clearly under zoom until we left ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0057 and read this disturbing headline ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0058 on a newspaper.
It was becoming dinner time, so we marched on pausing for a picture of Phat Farm ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0059 and a discussion of whether they spelled it right as we caught glimpses ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0060 ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0061 of the restaurant we decided to skip.
The restaurant we went to had a fine bathroom sign ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0062 and a menu that did not light up well ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0063 in the darkness. Sarah posed ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0064 but asked for a retake. Suzanne got it ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0065 on the first shot. This caused the people at the next table ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0066 to decide that picture taking was ok as they holidayed from Argentina. Ben did his tongue out ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0067 and weird face poses ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0068 which inspired Jane to make her washed out face ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0069 but my picture ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0070 inspired Sarah ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0071 Jane ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0072 and Ben ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0073 to look good for the camera.
The beer ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0074 photographed well but the sandwiches ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0075 ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0076 ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0077 didn't and we could only get Suzanne's soup ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0078 from afar ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0079 but not close. So after a few final pictures ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0080 ../../../Sabbat/12.23.02NewYork//IMG_0081 we said good bye to Cafe Vivaldi and headed back to the train home.
We had had a wonderful day in the city!
