The next day, I took Ben to Flemington for a chess tournament. If you look carefully at this picture ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0665 you see this image of him hard at work. Afterwards, the award ceremony began ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0666 and Ben waited ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0667 until he was called up ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0668 to receive the trophy ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0669 for 1st place (4 wins, no losses) in the grade 4-12 section. An exciting time.
We came home because it was time to celebrate our anniversary. We gathered the clan including these respectable people with an umbrella ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0670 ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0671 and this younger man who replaced me ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0672 ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0673 ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0674 and then just Sarah and Ed posed ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0675 as Ben was amused ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0676 as we got ready to enter Rats ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0677 for a celebratory dinner. I had a martini ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0678 which threw off the next picture ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0679 but my plate ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0680 was quite nice before it was removed to make room for the radish soup ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0681 and other courses ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0682 ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0683 as the others had fish ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0684 and chicken ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0685 and my ravioli ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0686 and risotto ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0687 kept me happy even as Jane dug into her filet mignon ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0688 as the bread person posed ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0689 which made the waiter ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0690 want his picture taken too.
Then it was time for individual pictures, so Jane posed ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0691 Ben posed ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0692 and then got amused ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0693 Ed posed ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0694 Sarah posed ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0695 and I took this self portrait ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0696 before capturing Suzanne ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0697 and letting someone else capture me ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0698 in the family group.

After dinner, it was time to celebrate Sarah's birthday and so we started the ritual of present opening ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0707 ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0708 with a display of earrings ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0709 and a large bow ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0710 and then more presents ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0711 ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0712 ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0713 with a break for complimentary pastries ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0714 and more presents ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0715 ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0716 ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0717 ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0718 until the hands ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0719 were tired and the desserts ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0720 ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0721 including fries and shake ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0722 came along with the bill ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0723 ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0724 which showed that a night out with the family isn't as cheap as it used to be.
After visiting with some people in the garden ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0725 ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0726 ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0727 and seeing the mother and child ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0728 we admired some sculptures in the dark ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0729 ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0730 before having some tea ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0731 with the old timers and taking one last picture ../../../Sabbat/2005/04.14-21.05AWeekofActivity//IMG_0732 with which to close off the celebration.
