It was Saint Patrick's weekend and the start of our spring breaks, so Suzanne and I decided to spend a few days in New York getting a break from our daily lives. Sarah
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161906
was on the phone and so hardly noticed. Claire
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161907
seemed ok with the idea. Jane
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161908
was happy to finish her book as Jess
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161909
burned a CD ROM and Suzanne
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161910
read the newspaper. Meanwhile, Meredith and Ben
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161911
were playing indoor balloon volleyball over the chairs as Benjamin got revved up
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161912
for a slam.
Next thing, we knew, we were in New York looking at the Ernst and Young building
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161913
and Suzanne was conversing with the old Jewish tailor
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161914
who represented the garment industry. Along the way to the hotel, we passed these people buying green hats
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161915
and this mall based on Toys R Us
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161916
which is apparently not doing a good business.
We got to the hotel and took this white picture of the room
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161917
followed by this picture of the blue lights behind the bed
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161918
(no wonder they won the Interiors Magazine award!) and these pictures of the view -- across
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161919
and down.
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161920
This was the view from the door into our bedroom
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161921
and these were the waters
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161922
they left for us. Not to mention, the picture
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161923
on the living room wall and the sink
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161924
in the bathroom with the samples of lotions, potions, notions.
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161925
We left the hotel to walk to the theater
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161926
and got close enough
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161927
to see the reviews.
After the play, we went to Suzan Glazer's apartment for some hors d'oeuvres
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161928
which caused Suzanne to put on her Saint Patrick's green
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161929
to match the napkins
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161930
and the famous Irish gefilte fish balls
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161931
and the champagne bottle
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161932
that we all signed. After a few group pictures
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161933
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161934
../../../Sabbat/03.16-18.02NewYork//P3161935
we headed to the restaurant where picture taking was not possible except for these obligatory photos of the signs in the bathroom for my collection.
