It was the last night of Hannukah and I hadn't taken a menorah picture yet. Audrey and Cara stopped by having missed the photos the night before and as I admired my new slippers and watched When Harry met Sally... Jeff came in out of the rain as did Seva which was good because the table was set and the food was prepping as Peter joined us for the movie and Steven and Sara arrived with this bottle of wine from their trip to Napa. There were some hors d'ouveres and this cup of soup as the menorahs stood at the ready and the latkes were getting ready and the assembled began to eat even as the desserts stood guard for the salad and veggies and chicken and there was quiet eating on the new tablecloth as the applesauce chicken challah salad latkes and portobello made for this plate for me before I decided to do the Lutheran thing.

The discussion went on at the other end of the table one side and the other as Suzanne admired Sara's bracelet and Jeff me and Sara put on our crowns and more Hannukah poppers were ejected as Suzanne went through the steps needed to open her crown and put it on to join Peter even as we read instructions about Hannukah but needed some light to see King Peter and Seva not to mention the many homeless fish we had taken in for the holidays who gave way to our desserts -- cookies slightly stale cake and lovely berries.

Next it was time for menorah lighting but my first shots had lighting problems before I got the hang of things and was able to capture all of the menorahs being lit

as the elders stood by until they vacated the space to show the wall allowing Ben to leave the lights and explore the electronic dreidel with Jane before giving it a few spins by the light of the menorot and so once again the assembled gathered and the candles were burning low the table was being cleared as Ben put on his new fleece for king Peter as we made our way to the next room where people watched as Ben opened his binary watch and showed it to Peter and then Taladega Nights as Jane got mocassins and Ben opened the Invinceable as Jane opened a sweater and then various books and movies for Ben

before Jeff began to open his gift and Ben threw the rattlesnake eggs (aka magnets) in the air while we tried to capture them

while Jeff saw that he had gotten the rap version of the Canterbury Tales as more attempts to get Ben's eggs in the air finally led to success

as John Szabo arrived and the candles were burning even lower when the deal or no deal game came out along with the erupting volcano and the jewelry box from Josephine not to mention Mental Floss which Suzanne displayed a few final gifts for Ben magnets for me poetry for Sara and as we bid farewell to Hannukah, 5767, the table was almost bare.
