The next day began with a trip to The Pancake House where the menu was studied by Ben Dan and me and Syl in this self portrait against a back lighting situation and as we studied the menu coffee saucers and filled cups gave way to condiments to be put on my Dutch Baby as Ben had his pigs in a blanket which raised his spirits as Dan had his pecan pancake and the waitress was nice enough to take this group picture again against back lighting before Ben took this picture and we settled the check before heading off to CostCo where these were the hours before we located the Pub Mix and explored the store and pharmacy noting some rules and skipping this exit lane.

Back at their apartment, we noted the beautiful lights in the social room as Ben carried the package up and settled and we looked at the chicken and vegetables that would accompany the Pub Mix and cheddar cheese as Ben pondered the meal and cheese was organized

as Ben set the table and placed the cheese there as the battery died and a new picture of the cheese was taken with the new battery as silverware was placed and the cocktail hour began as Syl entertained and Dan greeted Larry who brought cookies as Janet arrived and Larry and Janet made their way before Dansyl did final preparations which amused Ben as the Princeton banners were displayed and cookies gave way to cheese and pub mix while we recorded the progress of the construction

as soup chicken and cheese were served which satisfied Larry and Janet Ben Dan and me in this self portrait. There was potato kugel and cooked vegetables then more kugel which eased Janet into a smile and amused Larry before we had pears and cookies.

Next we went on an excursion to the Salk Institute in La Jolla where the structures were designed by Louis Kahn and hang gliders were in the background over the sea as we explored the area and Janet pointed out the holes in the walls as I recorded the structure and posed by the spouting fountain as we caught views of the locked gates and back to the hang gliders and the people who came to see them then the fountains and the architecture outside the labs and the drainage system and the warning sign outside the cafeteria before we recorded more of the architecture

and this magazine which was very soggy with a final glimpse of architecture

and their motto when after the final views we thanked the guard (whose instructions we had ignored) recorded the reserved parking space for which we did not qualify took a picture of our rental car and made our way back home.
