Thanksgiving day itself began with our being thankful for the flowers Sarah and Ed sent (and for the wonderful family we have) though we were sorry that they weren't here and then the bread was put into the oven to start the stuffing and the onions were being cooked since the condiments had been previously diced as the bread emerged into a glade of sun light so as for its brown not to be totally noticed. but it was clearly there as the cooking continued (though you can see the bay leaf more clearly now than we could later) and the butternut squash puree was being readied for its addition to the soup and the frying pan was being prepped as the cooking continued as there emerged from the carpet (and from my camera which expressed a limitation which had to be overcome) Jane and Lauren who had to make her way back to the city as Matt Traylor awoke but this didn't stop the soup from being stirred. Suzanne and I felt that the day was too beautiful to waste and so we started on a walk to the Kramers where we visited until they had to prepare to leave for Brooklyn with food in tow and the trunk was loaded which involved all 4 of them (including Judy) which made Rory celebrate in various poses before the family posed for a few Thanksgiving photo shots and we began our journey home on which we ran into Jane and Ben who had been out for a walk and then posed together for us.

Back at home things were cooking as the turkey emerged and was properly brined and then removed to be cleansed leaving this detritis as I checked out the bacon scraps remaining and the shredded cheese waiting not to mention the floury mix and the yams. All of this left a mess in the kitchen that could be viewed from all sides as the turkey was basted and brought forward and the dough was created to juxtapose with the turkey before heart shaped biscuits (with bacon) were pressed out for cooking. This meant it was time for the ginger beer to emerge and after some views of the food dark and stormys were ready to be consumed while football raged in the other room and the table was set though the carrots still had to be processed and there were the Brussels sprouts. Jane got a burn that we would be following but finally it was time to eat and so soup was served which would perhaps wake Ben up in his Marines shirt. The biscuits appeared and looked better than they had in the prep photos and there was the corn bread and potatoes of various kinds and stuffing and the carrots were finally ready which enabled me to make this design on my plate having to correct for the fact that the marshmellows were not melted on the sweet potatoes. I was then able to expand my plate to this and even further as turkey was served to Ben cut from the whole and, of course, there were the chocolate turkeys with which to end the meal.
