It was a hot August day and the summer was winding down so I decided to drive to the Pine Barrens where I met DrLen whose car
was having brake light problems even as we parked near this sign for the safe concrete pipe company
and made our way into Hammonton to the Silver Coin Diner
where DrLen posed
before we explored the menu
and Len had the spinach pie
as I had the blueberry (Hammonton being the blueberry capital of the world) and banana pancakes
with syrup
and Len enjoyed his meal
as I took this self portrait
and tried to get a profile picture of myself and my food
when the rice pudding
put Len in a better mood
so that I could capture this collection sign
before we headed to the beach.
We went to Aisler Pond
where the life guard stand gave the info
but we had to ask why the water was quite so red
and then to admire the snack bar
and the trash bags
as Dr Len settled under a tree
and I watched our neighbors try to attract gulls
before looking at the tree above me in artistic mode
After the pool was emptied to move the ropes, we drove to Hammonton and recorded the water tower
before heading to Toni's Frozen custard stand
where they served other foods
but I focussed on the custard
and then looked at their indoor signage
and the napkin holder
before heading home where Fred was consoling Jane
who had lost her wisdom teeth the day before.
