It was a nice (although very hot) August day and so Dr Len and I decided to explore the region around and above Lambertville anding up at this restaurant in Stockton
where the menu was eclectic
with pictures of the owners and their employees on front
and back
along with a welcoming sign that explained it was Miel's and not Mel's as I had assumed but more on that later.
Dr Len pondered his meal
but I had fresh fruit
as he had split pea soup and corn bread
and focussed on his split pea soup
and then his corn bread
as my Jersey tomato and corn soup arrived
and our waitress explained that Miel's was pronounced in a way that made it clear that Miel's provided meals (and good ones at that!).
After taking this collection sign in the bathroom
we walked along the canal
until we saw these ducks on the pond
with bridge infrastructure above
and these signs marking the trail ahead.
Back at home, Jeff and OtherJane arrived for dinner but it took a few shots
before I could get Jeff and OtherJane in the right light
and then we could proceed to have a family dinner
with this bottle of wine
which inspired me to make these faces from my food
which must have inspired OtherJane
Jeff
Jane
and Suzanne.
