Two weeks had passed by quickly and so Suzanne and I headed back to Williamstown to pick up Ben after his Overland experience. We stopped along the way at the Holiday Inn Express in Poughkeepsie where these were the views of (and from our room)
before we headed out to the Culinary Institute of America
and saw this clockpost
among some beautiful flowers
and this fountain
in front of the main building
where after passing the fountain
we walked past the stained glass window with the unusual initials
and followed directions
past the bakery
to the restaurant (American Bounty)
where these were the menus we would order from
at our table with a view of the kitchen
which caused exuberance on my part
before I took this self portrait
as water was served
and bread
before we ordered our mojitos that were made with basil (a taste sensation I may not wish to repeat)
and then Suzanne had her Caesar salad
and I had my country salad
followed by Suzanne's salmon
and my tofu with curried vegetables (best tofu I've ever had)
and the recommended wine pairings for an ideal meal
before the dessert menu came
and we watched my profiteroles being made
and then served
while Suzanne had this chocolate kiss.
After the meal, we paid the bill
and then explored the exhibits of cooking technology
before checking out the menu
at the Escoffier
and noting these posters that described all manner of apples
as we made our way past benefactors
classrooms
hall of famers
and this sign of particular interest
before heading out to the herb garden
and making an attempt at night photography
