Our over night in Tuba City was coming to an end and so this breakfast was had by Suzanne and this by me before we read the history of the trading post by the decade

and then entered to purchase a few items returning to hear about their 3 flags which we saw in part because there was not much wind.

We then drove on to the Grand Canyon where this gentleman sold us a lifetime pass for seniors to all National Parks for a one time fee of $10. And so, we drove on to the Desert View point where we saw the trading post and the lighthouse tower in the distance which brought some information before we started taking photos from all angles

and then the portraits (including selfies) began and then a few more photos and photos that were interesting applications of a black screen before we started to climb the lighthouse looking down at those below while recording the Navajo seal and our welcoming character and then more pictures as we climbed to a higher level as Suzanne tried to take in the scene and the views continued before we decided to move on but first we took pictures of rangers on horseback who were overseeing a commemorative service.

I captured a few license plates for the collection and then we headed to the next vista where we captured scenery sometimes including one or both of us.

before this license plate for the collection even as we tried to crack the mystery of where our hotel was and so took another shot of a license plate for the collection and then set out for a walk along the rim trail

before stopping at El Tovar for lunch where Suzanne seemed to be enjoying herself before this gentleman flew by and then stopped to ask us to contribute to his grandchildren's education, a very mysterious conversation, After our rolls we each had the same Santa Fe sandwich (perhaps because that's where our trip started?). I recorded a few license plates for the collection (from a bit of a distance) as we sat on the porch and enjoyed the calm before returning to enjoy the scenery

as Suzanne found a bench to lie on before we headed back to check in t our hotel with me stopping to capture license plates for the collection

and Suzanne catching up

though there were still more license plates for the collection before we checked in and sat out a remarkable storm of thunder and lightning. After the storm, we headed out to see the sunset on the canyon walls taking several photos

ending with this pretty tree as we headed to the El Tovar for cocktails and a light meal as I had the Grand Canyon mule Suzanne had a glass of wine and we shared chips and salsa before deciding it was too cold and going inside for the rest of our meal.
