It was Suzanne's birthday which was grounds for some great celebrations. The
night before, we gathered together the Havurah elders and made our
way towards the mist
to take a group picture
before passing through the mist
to Rat's
for the celebration.
Among us, we ordered 3 first courses, the beet one
the meat one
and the gorgonzolla cheese one
On the half hours throughout the meal, popovers
arrived. Depending upon the order of delivery to the 5 dining rooms, the
freshness varied. Next came the main courses,
of which I only remember the ``fried chicken'' portobello
that I had. The food got conversation going as Seva
Suzanne
and Peter
entertained the thought of a cheese cart
to the amusement of Steven
Sara
and me
(not a bad self portrait).
Once we got the crackers
and breads
and our cheese plate
we were freed to study the salt and pepper shakers
and eat down the cheese
to the amusement of our waiters
for the evening. It took one
then two
and even a third try
before I could get the sugar picture right and my first attempt
to get a plate picture
didn't work. After the chef's dessert
I went to the men's room looking for a sign and found this rat
hence the name. I came back to participate in
ordering the desserts
after which Sara posed the plate
so I could get a good picture.
After dinner, we explored. Peter meditated
as Steven
went into the willows
to glance at this sculpture
while Suzanne, Seva and Peter
discovered the music machine
and entered their selection
for all to hear.
On further exploration, we met these people
and as Peter befriended them
Suzanne joined the crowd
and eventually we sat for a group picture
taken by this kind gentleman
before exploring further to this sculpture
and then this
which suffered in the darkness. After a debate,
we decided to skip the formal setting
and join the picnic
where after a nice picture
we said goodbye to her
and headed home.
