The next day was June 17 and I began by admiring my view before taking a picture of Bailey Dixon '07 who had just taken my picture and then heading to San Jose to catch a flight to San Diego.

Larry and Janet met me at the airport and Janet took this picture while Larry tried to do the same with his cell phone camera which replaced the old phone which lost its signal after going through the washing machine. Driving north on I-5, we saw this car from Iowa with surfboards and then reached our destination -- Suite 306 where Syl greeted us as Dan put on his shirt and we were served fruit and nuts as they do in California. Next we saw the card that came with the orchids, the flowers from Michelle and Jason the new orchid and the older one which is getting a new bud. Meanwhile, Syl was unpacking the bells from Sarah and getting ready to install them as Janet admired the Do Not Disturb sign and the bells were shown even as these azaleas arrived from Linda.

But we were there for a reason -- Sylvia's 85th birthday. So, we headed to George's and went in so that each of us

and the birthday girl twice could read the menu as Shane, our waiter, explained the specials and then Sylvia Larry Janet Dan and I in this better self portrait could order as the bread arrived and the cards were opened as the first course of crab was arriving. The wine came and was oriented for a good picture as my vegetarian plate tasted as good as it looked and the server brought the other main courses

so that as the sun set I could join the clean plate club and see the birthday chocolates even as these pictures were being taken by the staff photographer and we were headed back to the apartment. A discussion of who was really taller led to this picture though there was no doubt of who was more handsome.
