We began by going to see the statues guarding the burial temple of Amen-Oifs III -- the co-called colossi of Memnon ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230002 ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230003 ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230004 ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230005 which were quite impressive.

Next we went to the Kingdom of the Gods. Getting there was quite a challenge. When your bus stops you have to deal with peddlers ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230006 next you go through the snack bar ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230015 and take a tram ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230014 to reach the ticket booth ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230013 after which you walk through the street vendors ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230016 to get to the path to the tombs. Then you are in this remarkable setting ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230010 ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230011 where you can walk up a long path ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230009 and stop at tombs ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230008 which may be entered ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230007 ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230012 but there is no photography inside. But, be careful as you leave ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230017 and watch out for the guards ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230018

Next we stopped at an alabaster factory ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230019 where they did a demonstration of the process ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230020 and showed someone pounding the material ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230021 and another person sawing ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230022 All of this was to hustle our money and give a commission to the tour guide.

Our final stop was at the Valley of the Queens where Jane did her Nefertari imitation ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230035 we waited to go into a tomb ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230036 and took an obligatory phone booth picture ../../../Sabbat/Pics/04.23.00LuxorWestBank//P4230037
