Against this back drop, we arose on Saturday and headed into town to
mail this package
that had been lingering for too long. We met the Sheiner's
at PJ's as we headed to Zorba's
for Jane's BLT
with fires
Ben's chocolate milk
and Jane's Orangina
to wash down his
chicken nuggets as I ate a falafel
and these people at our table
were nice enough to take this picture
of us. At Thomas Sweet's, Ben pondered his ice cream
and then took a bite
as Jane's sat waiting for her
while I photographed the fun house mirror
amid the logo
and menu pages
of the confectionaire.
Walking onward, we ran into Lucy and Mary Knapp
as the peace protest
loomed in the distance where this man
had a beautiful sign and Michael
spoke with the woman with the baby on her back as the balloons
fluttered and peace
by balloon or postcard
seemed like a good idea even to these bongo drummers
who serenaded us.
Back at home were the water bottles from Suzanne's car
as we headed off to Ben's basketball game
against the girl's team.
