Next, it was Jane's birthday and so Ben and I drove into the city to join Suzanne who was already there visiting Jane and before we could celebrate, we explored the possibility of hanging Jane's shelves
and her basket
before she opened her birthday gift from Sarah
and we headed out for lunch passing this elegant sign of welcome
and we walked past Hector's where we decided not to eat
and this storefront for Hogs & Heifers
not to mention this orange and black bag
and a gas station
and a flea market to which we would return
before we found Colicchio & Sons
and crossed the street to get there
so that we could check out the menus
and the bar covered by bottles of wine
before Jane
Suzanne
Ben
and I
sat down to admire the granualr brown sugar
and our drinks of varying colors
as the donut holes arrived
as we admired the size of their ice cubes
before the omelet
pizza
burger
and salad with egg arrived
and eating began
even before the sausage came.
everything was divided and then halfs were shifted to the right
for the second course when Ben posed with Jane
before the bill arrived
and we departed for the obligatory phone booth picture
and trip back to Jane's apartment where Matt and his room mate Jeff arrived
and the effort to hang the shelves continued now that we had the right tools.
Matt posed with the feather cap and we headed back to New Jersey.
