Imagine our surprise today when we woke up and discovered that school had been canceled. When I saw this out of the window of my study, I understood why. So, Benjamin and Nathaniel worked at cleaned the car as Suzanne put a few more stitches in her knitting and got ready to walk to town.

The car cleaning went on for a while

and then shifted to my car because Suzanne's car seemed to be doing ok while I had a lot of snow still to clear from mine.

This was the view to the street and this the bush on the front lawn as the boys continued working on my car

and I found the New York Times and the submerged garbage can on the curb as the street was snow covered in both directions and the trees across the street were impressive as was the snow on our driveway. The house had its majestic snow look as I tried to find the bus stop and then came back to the door where Ben and Nathaniel didn't seem to care if Jane and Suzanne ever appeared.

But it was time to start our journey with Nathaniel Jane Ben and Suzanne along for the ride which made me happy to have my boots at the ready. Nathaniel decided he had to tackle Ben a few times and at the wedge, Jane and Suzanne crossed as Nathaniel and Ben waited with me on the other side. Nassau Street was clear as we marched on to a side view of Nassau Hall through the bars and up closer and the standard photograph view as we prepared to cross Nassau Street to make our way down the street with the clear sidewalk and the snow covered bench to Panera's where we looked through my shadow into the window and saw Sarah and Laura (just barely) and went in to see Daniel Sarah and Laura enjoying their lunches. We walked over the icy stretch to PJ's where Ben and Nathaniel sat across from Suzanne as I recorded the menu cover and inside and the bar scene until Jane and Fred arrived and sat down so that the waitress could take our order and they could bring the puzzle pages for the boys to distract them from the specials and from any worry about my Blair Witch self-portrait as Suzanne watched. Imagine our surprise when the ultimate frisbee team came in lead by Juji.

Suzanne's salad Nathaniel's pizza Fred's burger (Jane had the same thing) Ben's grilled cheese and my pancakes (buttermilk, of course) made it eating time. I showed Jane how I was progressing and she did the same for me as did Fred before we decided to depart.

We took a picture of Jane and Fred at the movies (where they went a few hours later) and then went to CVS to look for pomade as Jane displayed her purchases before we got the finger nail extenders. Our next stop was Sam Goody's where the cashier would not allow us to take her picture so I took this group photo instead.

Back at home, the boys assembled and took a group picture before heading to Joel's birthday party. Jane modeled her nails as the boys cleared the car while Nathaniel's car seat watched and a war broke out all in the name of celebrating a beautiful day of much snow and no school.
