and Gyan Prakash (History)
and it was time for someone ( thanks to Sarah for volunteering ) to get in position to see those with memories of second grade to assemble
and take their turns
which is getting a new bud. Meanwhile, Syl was unpacking the bells from Sarah
and getting ready to install them
Jerome Silbergeld (Art and Archaeology), Chris Sims (Economics), Anne Marie Slaughter (Woodrow Wilson School and Politics), Toni Turano (Dean of Faculty), Tom Hare (Comparative Literature) and Satish Myneni (Geosciences) On Friday May 20, it was prom night and before the prom, the after-prom and the after-after-prom we decided to have a pre-prom gathering as we had done for Sarah's prom in 2002 and Jane's Cotillion in 2004 . We began with the table set
and then Jane modeled her dress
while Sarah and Devon
reappeared and Suzanne
took a phone call. As Dale Engelbert chatted with Devon and Sarah
there were more prom'ers assembling
Sarah chatted with
Liz Marchetta (possibly about the prom 3 years ago?) and Jane and John
and Sarah and Jane
and then the boys gathered
before heading home to assemble the troups for the annual Mother's day lunch. As we'd done in previous years we went to Main Street where we sat at the same table but in different seats as Ben and Sarah were one side
Suzanne was at the head
Sarah had the salad
and I had vegetarian chili
taking my picture. As we were having this experience, in another part of town, Sarah was going to House Parties It was house parties and so Sarah and Ed
posed in Prospect Gardens and then Ed posed with Devon
and Sarah posed with Devon
and then it was time to go eat the salad
then approached the flower. Meanwhile, Darin (Allie's boy friend), Allie Squires, Tarryn Chun, Jed Q. Peterson, Ed and Sarah
were at the table as Scott Grzenczyk
toasted the club. Amy posed with Sarah
and then Devon and Nicole Greenbaum posed
after which Sarah posed with Jessie
and with Ed
decided to do the Hollywood thing with Sarah and Ed and Scott posed with Jessie
to end the evening. For the Saturday semi-formal, here was Sarah
and Ed
and Sarah and Ed
taken by Ed even as he posed. It was the afternoon of the first evening of Passover and so we had to start thinking about a Seder as we had recorded in But first, Ben and I continued on our project to get pictures of all of the paperweights by adding these
went out and brought in the mail. Sarah and Devon arrived
and started melting chocolate
for posterity. Next, Sarah produced her old and new driver's licenses
for all to admire (though the camera did not do a good job) and Jane took this sequence of pictures of Suzanne and I in our Egyptian garb
and then just Sarah and Ed posed
as Ben was amused
Sarah posed
and I took this self portrait
in the family group. Sarah next did an excellent job of recording a trip to the lady's room
complete with plants
in the stall. After dinner, it was time to celebrate Sarah's birthday and so we started the ritual of present opening
with a display of earrings
was loaded with balloons for Sarah's real birthday. While we weren't invited to the celebration, Devon Louise Cecilia Wessman-Smerdon took these pictures
so we feel like we were there. On Tuesday (4/19), a faculty group came to lunch
and Sarah Whiting
whoa re job candidates in Architecture. I ended the work day in a discussion with Slobodan Curcic (Art and Archaeology)
more or less. It was to be a time of celebration. On Wednesday, April 6, Sarah Kay
who we are hoping to recruit from Cambridge for our French and Italian department appeared and then Kirk Unruh
could continue even as Sarah arrived home and opened
and displayed
and Sarah ate
while telling stories. The views around the table
Left to Right: Jason Fleischer (Electrical Engineer), Kathleen Davis (English), Frederick Hughson (Molecular Biology), Sarah-Jane Mahieu (History), Miguel Centeno (Sociology and PIIRS), Paul Lansky (Music) and then came home for a picture of my new tie
as Ben decided to take a too close
and Sarah
and then Ben and Sarah
showed our excitement about the game that was going to be such a dissapointment later. The Hutner-Flemer's
was quite something as I walked behind Ben and Sarah
as we made our way past this water valve
was desserted as Sarah made her way
to the plowed mountain
which didn't photograph well. This inspired Sarah to take a few pictures
before expanding the lens and using white balance to improve on what I had done
and Sarah got her chicken sandwich
all of which fortified us for the walk home. En route, we crossed the street
