This picture of a proud Rob with the machine was taken one
week before
the move, when Rob and I went to the UC Davis machine shop to prep the
machine for the move.
The freshly rented truck in front of the Whalen household, being
fitted with
the custom wooden craddle.
The UC Davis crew. Leo was MIA, so Mike (back to the camera) and the
forklift operator, with an assist from Matt Yore (not pictured) were
the help.
They and the 10,000 lb forklift...
The mill made it to the truck bed magically: the actual operation
was not
the moment for pictures.
Then the job of making the machine fast to the truck bed began.
The machine is now tied down and these are the "pre drive back"
pictures.
Frtz looks happy because he is not driving the machine back...
And these are pictures of the UC Davis machine shop. The second is
a picture of their plasma cutter: a sort of laser cutter on steroids
used
for cutting sheets of steel.
This is Rob practicing for the future olympic sport of precision
forklifting.
He (with an assist from Ron, the landlord) had to drop the mill in an
impossibly small space.
This is Team Bachacs after surviving the move. It was a full
day...:-)
These are pictures of a
miter saw in the UC Davis shop that Fritz wanted
to copy for his shop.
