This was our day to drive from Zamora where we had slept last night to Madrid where we will sleep for the next 3 nights before catching the plane back to New York and on with the life we left. On the way we decided to stop in Salamanca where we were greeted by this statue and then by this one until we found the Plaza Mayor where we all

had lunch. The Plaza (our first of 2 this lucky day) was so impressive that we took pictures in all directions

including the restaurant with David still there the postcard store and views of Suzanne and David and Benjamin on the plaza which was to be our first of 2 this day. We took pictures of the commerce as well including this store that we wanted to have open, these internet cafes and this gentleman who posed with Jane And, of course there was the obligatory phone booth picture

The walk back to the car took us past this building covered by shells, the remarkable cathedral

the building opposite it and the street between the buildings not to mention Jane, David and Suzanne, and the statue

Next we walked around the main building of the university where we passed views like this as we marched through the street of books to see the façade of the university overseen by this statue Like everyone, we craned our necks to try and find the hidden frog. When we finally did, we captured it so that others could share our experience as you watch David and Benjamin walk off into the parking lot

After the drive to Madrid, we headed to that city's Plaza Mayor and took pictures in all directions while noting that this statue of Isabella II guards the plaza. We all sat down for dinner

served by this kind gentleman but were sorry that Isabella II couldn't guard us some – the cold breezes made this perhaps the coldest night in Madrid this July.
