We started the day by taking a phone booth picture
as we walked to the Pantheon
outer walls through the outer doors

Once outside, we took pictures of the façade
including the ancient Roman
and the structures across the street
and headed off to lunch.
On the way to lunch, it started to rain and the restaurant was not yet open ( some people think we used our friends at the Vatican from yesterday to bring on the rain ) so we went back to the Pantheon to see whether the rain does come in through the hole in the roof.

After lunch we began our walk to the Trevi Fountain through this beautiful street
that was supposed to have the best chocolate in Rome (which unfortunately was closed).
At the Trevi Fountain, we recorded the structure

Next we began our pilgrimage
to the alleged site
of the finest gelato in all of Italy.
This man
spooned it out
including licorice flavored that was a religious experience ( where else but in Rome
). He even took the obligatory picture of us
enjoying his wares.
Next we went to the Via Veneto where we saw this gentleman
holding forth in a café near these steps
which imitate the Spanish Steps.
We later discovered that he was a waiter at the establishment and that these were not the
real Spanish Steps but we did see Jane's middle name
on the way
to the real thing along with this sign
At the real Spanish steps, this was the view from on top
and this is how the steps looked
and here was the skyline
This was the view up from the bottom
along with the view at that level
We walked around the bottom but Jane was disappointed
because Georgio Armani was closed.
We took a subway home
and managed to avoid the pickpockets.
