The sabbatical continued and off we went to England (where no photos were taken) and Spain where pictures were taken with a slowly dying camera and so some of what appears is below the quality you've come to expect on this blog. We settled in with Jacobo and Barbara and then headed to one of many lovely beaches. We paused to take in the view down to the beach

from various viewpoints before heading down to the beach where we saw this tribute to Ubuntu which doesn't seem to have amused Suzanne.

Later we stopped in a nearby town to explore as Suzanne and Suzanne and Barabara looked out to the lighthouse before these selfies were taken along with these photos of Barbara and Suzanne

The next day, we went to the nearby town to explore

and in our explorations found a church this wonderful sign for the collection and view sights in the fog before taking this group selfie and making our way through the fog on the mountain top down the hill to this wonderful monument before heading down to the olive store

This was a shopping excursion to highlight (and in some cases no light) different forms of jambon available

before taking these dark photos capturing a police wagon and going on an excursion with Carlos who had arrived making group selfies a bit more challenging though we were able to continue our excursions to the mines where further selfies were taken as we came through a tunnel to a cemetery with pretty flowers and various ways in which people were interred

before we returned to dinner

Back at the beach the next day, we saw that the Ubuntu sign had changed as we made our way to the water which was delightful. Back at home, Inigo was working with Barbara to make his salmoreco soup and ingredients were gathered before we admired views and ended our wonderful stay in Fernan Peres

Jacobo took these pictures this day of us swimming with the fishes and then some of us eating the fishes

Jacobo was nice enough to bring us to Almeria where the churros were made coming out like this so that we could take them to the local bar and bathe them in chocolate.

Off we went to Grenada where we came across the tomb of Ferdinand and Isabella before stopping for some food which made Suzanne and me happier. As we completed our meal we left the Parador and headed down the hill to town passing Washington Irving and reaching Christopher Columbus and Isabella negotiating his trip followed by a remarkable church and then a walk to the top of this hill to watch the sunset with many others before stepping off the pavement and heading back to the Parador for dinner

accompanied by this wine and ending with this fruit.

This was our day to explore the Alhambra starting with large structures crowds moving through the most beautiful gardens I've ever seen

enhanced by the occasional view of Suzanne further gardens

Suzanne sculptured bushes back to Suzanne among the bushes and then me followed by these selfies and this overview of the town below before we reached the Alcazar cause for a photo of Suzanne and this selfie of us as we enjoyed views and Suzanne posed for artistic photos before we headed through through gardens

to the remarkable palace

pausing for a self portrait and then back to the palace

broad views amazing scenery selfies followed by our chance to join the scenery

and then some beautiful flowers

before we had our dinner which made Suzanne happy.

This was the next day's dinner in the small town of Carmona where we had quite an experience in finding our way to the hotel

Next we went to Seville and visited the Alcazar which was thankfully more beautiful than the dark photos show.

and we then made our way to the remarkable gardens there.

and through the darkness and many buildings in the complex

to further gardens which Suzanne could appreciate and further exploration keep her engaged as the goldfish didn't communicate to Suzanne or to us in this selfie. After views of the cathedral which would be next and the Washington Irving plaque and a walk through the park we adjourned for lunch and captured these spices at a market before making our way to the cathedral which was built by madmen but we had to wait to enter and admire the outside before entering and exploring the various aspects

and then we were back to the unreachable Parador for dinner.

Our next stop was Cordoba with the most remarkable cathedral/mosque of all. We began by exploring some art

and then made our way to the cathedral

and then on to the plaza Maimonades for exploration and remarkable arches and this bad selfie before we saw the Rambam himself and explored the Sephardic museum

and then we were back towards the cathedral for lunch

along with decorative signs and the name of Suzanne's favorite Andalucian food. Next we made our way to the cathedral itself

and this map of Spain which explained that it had been made for the Sephardic as we touched Maimonades' shoe for luck and captured the other 2 required statues along with city walls

and this selfie followed by a few final photos. Our final stop was in Madrid where this sign for the collection told a story.
