It was our last moments in Santa Fe and so breakfast was not recorded as we drove on across New Mexico stopping at exit 108 on I-40 at the Casino Hotel
where gas was sold
at good prices
and so we took this selfie while discussing the servies inside -- buy 75 gallons of gas and your laundry is free
but we got many fewer than 75 gallons
as we drove on to Gallup where these were the 3 rugs we might have bought
but instead we took a photo of the back alleys
and headed to Jerry's for lunch
which made Suzanne happy
as it did me
especially when her meal
a vegetarian sandwich
and thousand islands dressing
and my sopapilla and tortilla
accompanied my chili (with no beans because they were made with lard)
kept us going as we recorded the massive Hopi pot in the town
which probably came from Richardson's
but we drove on to Tuba City where we settled in our room
and then recorded these license plates for the collection
before going to the Hogan restaurant
and choosing from the menu
armadillo eggs to start
and then a questionable taco salad
and a pizza
before we noted the sign at the trading post
this van
and the seal of the Navajo nation before calling it a night.
