Graduation was over and so I headed to the airport and thankfully flew in business class so that this was my first course and salad followed by my South Asian vegetarian main course and then the cheese and grapes and dessert. In the morning, breakfast was served before we landed in Copenhagen.

Once on the ground, I headed to Rungstedgaard where this was my room and the bathroom not to mention the view from the room. I caught a nap and gave my talk and then there was a dinner where this was the soup-like course with asparagus in season and my main course along with new potatoes also in season. After the meal, I went to sleep having had a quite long day (or was it two?).

The next morning, I left the hotel and looked out at Sweden which wasn't far away and recorded the docked boats as I walked down the street past the gas station where these were the non-trivial prices (at about 6 DKK to the dollar) and as I walked on, I recorded some license plates from Estonia and Denmark and then in walking around the docked boats came across this beach sign. Walking down the coast led to structures like this along the water and pretty flowers which could be seen up close as I recorded a license plate from Great Britain and then noted the ducks on the pond and this duck on a rock who seemed to be in charge. I started my walk back seeing this in the distance which where I had to return and noted a post box before I came to the Rungsted Kro followed by this sign that told me the way and so I made my way past the Karen Blixen Museum and made it home to a bottle of the local water and then headed down to this lunch. After lunch, we went to the local train station to catch the train back to Copenhagen for our sightseeing tour. But first, we stopped at the Hotel Phoenix so that I could check into my room which was number 3340 and looked like this with these views of the bathroom and this view of the outside. Next, we could begin our exploration of the city starting with the guard at the royal palace who stood between pillars and then obliged for this photo before we walked past this fountain behind which was this boat in front of the opera house. Across the way were some amazing sand sculptures as part of an international competition and we could see the opera house at the same time no to mention these curiously designed pillars as we made our way down a typically Danish looking street and eventually stopped for coffee to wait out the rain (as if such a thing could be possible) which amused Bo. Back to walking, we came upon the stock exchange which was interesting architecturally taken as the whole and zooming in on the rooftops as a group and individually before getting another picture of the whole large building. Next was royal stables and this statue of Christian followed by a broad view of parliament and then a close view with the protective statue and then this statue of Absalon (1128-1201) who founded the city. Next it was shopping time and so we passed Georg Jensen which actually belongs in Copenhagen and saw the fountain where people meet (but not during rainy times) and made our way to a design store where this was sold to manage a hard boiled egg to the extreme. At the church attended by the queen, we met Moses and David and then walking past the old University area, we ran into Neils Bohr. Bo then suggested we go to a book store that just happened to sell beer but also sold books and was located on the walking street displaying its menu and not far from the psychotheraputic institute. We next climbed to the top of the round tower from which we got views of the city in all directions starting with the NorthEast and moving among church spires

and then looked out at Danish windmills (in the foreground) and the Swedish nuclear power plant (white in the background) and the views continued with a large McDonald's sign in the distance and the rooftops of the old section of the city before we walked past this nicely decorated truck which was apparently going to pick up a group of graduating seniors.

Our next stop was dinner at Geist where this was the decoration of flowers en route to the bathroom and this was the sink structure before I returned to see Bo's beer and looking into the kitchen ordered one of my own. With the menu, I began with the white asparagus with horseradish and black cardamom and Bo began with the raw ox and lumpfish roe with chili and the kid next to us had the lemon floss. For my next course, I had the baked celeriac with condensed buttermilk while Bo had the west coast turbot with fennel ravioli on cheese which sent me back to the menu and after looking at the dessert menu Bo ordered the baked rhubarb and tomato and I had the vanilla ice cream with black olives and liquorice as we chatted with our waitress who was born in Greenland and she then arranged for us to have photo taken (with her) in the kitchen. After recording the menu covers and the hanging pots and pans and having some of the lemon floss myself as Bo had his coffee we walked past this man sleeping in the store window and called it a night. The next morning, I went to the airport quite early and ate the sandwich the hotel had packed for me before boarding the flight to Oslo where a second breakfast was served and then made my way to the flight back to Newark where nuts were served followed by a bloody Mary and a roll and the vegetarian first course followed by a salad and the less appetizing main course and the cheese course. And then there was a final meal before landing (as if I hadn't already been overfed!).
