We were beginning to think about Thanksgiving and so Suzanne and I went out for a walk and ran into Seva and Alison at Small World

A few days later, Anthony Scaturro of OIT came by to report on our office's security.

And then it was Thanksgiving (well, almost) and Lauren Santiago came to visit because she and Jane had their high school reunion and after they went off to dinner, Matt Traylor arrived and made his way to find them.

Thanksgiving day itself began with our being thankful for the flowers Sarah and Ed sent (and for the wonderful family we have) though we were sorry that they weren't here and then the bread was put into the oven to start the stuffing and the onions were being cooked since the condiments had been previously diced as the bread emerged into a glade of sun light so as for its brown not to be totally noticed. but it was clearly there as the cooking continued (though you can see the bay leaf more clearly now than we could later) and the butternut squash puree was being readied for its addition to the soup and the frying pan was being prepped as the cooking continued as there emerged from the carpet (and from my camera which expressed a limitation which had to be overcome) Jane and Lauren who had to make her way back to the city as Matt Traylor awoke but this didn't stop the soup from being stirred. Suzanne and I felt that the day was too beautiful to waste and so we started on a walk to the Kramers where we visited until they had to prepare to leave for Brooklyn with food in tow and the trunk was loaded which involved all 4 of them (including Judy) which made Rory celebrate in various poses before the family posed for a few Thanksgiving photo shots and we began our journey home on which we ran into Jane and Ben who had been out for a walk and then posed together for us.

Back at home things were cooking as the turkey emerged and was properly brined and then removed to be cleansed leaving this detritis as I checked out the bacon scraps remaining and the shredded cheese waiting not to mention the floury mix and the yams. All of this left a mess in the kitchen that could be viewed from all sides as the turkey was basted and brought forward and the dough was created to juxtapose with the turkey before heart shaped biscuits (with bacon) were pressed out for cooking. This meant it was time for the ginger beer to emerge and after some views of the food dark and stormys were ready to be consumed while football raged in the other room and the table was set though the carrots still had to be processed and there were the Brussels sprouts. Jane got a burn that we would be following but finally it was time to eat and so soup was served which would perhaps wake Ben up in his Marines shirt. The biscuits appeared and looked better than they had in the prep photos and there was the corn bread and potatoes of various kinds and stuffing and the carrots were finally ready which enabled me to make this design on my plate having to correct for the fact that the marshmellows were not melted on the sweet potatoes. I was then able to expand my plate to this and even further as turkey was served to Ben cut from the whole and, of course, there were the chocolate turkeys with which to end the meal.

On Friday I had to have blood drawn and so walked to the doctor's office stopping at Small World on the way back to meet Jane who was having coffee with Andrew Fergueson who finally arrived from California and so came into focus.

Back at home, this car pulled up and out came Dick and Fran. A bit later, Jack arrived followed by Emma, Kate and Tess and Betsy and Matt and so the family posed for a family photo (or three). Once in the house, there was some exploration in the family room

and then we headed to the back yard where Jane came forward as Dick and Fran watched as did Tess, Ben and Betsy while Jack and Matt pushed Emma and Kate in the hammock before Kate made her way across the yard and there was the hammock crowd Betsy Kate and people heading back to the hammock as the outside activities continued

before we had a break inside and then headed for the tree lighting in Palmer Square and so Dick showed his true colors and after a group photo with a closeup on Jack we made our way to town where Ben posed with Fran Betsy posed with her kids and Jack showed off his hat while Suzanne and Ben awaited the action but nothing seemed to be changing except for our discussions with Ben explaining things to Tess as Suzanne and Fran posed as did Betsy and Matt and 3 of their 4 and then Fran and Dick posed with Kate and Tess while the waiting continued and Emma climbed on Matt's shoulders Tess climbed onto Dick's and Jack climbed on mine.

Back at home, Sam Cummins arrived as did Matt Traylor who posed with Jane and the kids enjoyed their presents before Kate Tess Emma Tess again Kate again Tess and eventually Jack posed in the small chair.

All of this built our appetites and so we came to dinner where there was corn and other bread macaroni and cheese and Brussels sprouts and the mac and cheese was served as was the salad and so the assembled ate before Sam and Ben left to go bowling and pie was served before ti was bed time.

The next morning, the early risers were in the family room and Kate sat with Fran before breakfast was served and Jane's cut was observed though Ben wasn't quite awake and neither was Jane but Matt Traylor engaged in political debate with Dick and I kept score and took photos as well as admiring Ben's trophies from bowling before we adjourned to the family room where Ben and Suzanne posed and the kids played even as Matt and Dick continued their discussion and Tess returned for lunch after an excursion to the farm so everyone joined her not to mention the amusement of the mustard and Tess was enjoying her rabbit which kept the others amused and I had my vitamin water Zero before Betsy and Tess at in the living room as did Dick and Fran Suzanne and I and Tess in the small chair and then Tess studied the refrigirator magnets before it was time to depart.
