It was time for another hall of fame event but before we could get ready for the event there needed to be a birthday celebration in the office for the leap year people and so Kris and I were presented with this cake and then the cutting began as plates were supplied with slices.

The next day, I took the plane to Tampa and was met by Dick and Larry as this gentleman walked by and then in the car on the way home from the airport, we called Dansyl before I was shown to my quarters in the guest apartment and then we went upstairs where Francine needed some light and Janet needed to turn around before we could assemble my snack of a banana and a clementine as olives were gathered and some amaretto for Janet and condiments for Dick and me so that Janet could have her drink and I could have my martini while demonstrating just how much of a close up I could get of Dick's face with my camera.

This was the induction day and the weather looked promising as Larry Janet and I headed out for a walk but first celebrated Francis J. Bellamy who wrote the Pledge of Allegiance and for whom this building is named. After walking a bit, we cam to Pach's Place where this was the menu

which Larry and Janet studied as we were joined by Fran who posed with me and fruit salad pats of butter eggs, with hash browns and bacon a tuna sandwich and my meal which was so white that I needed some bacon to make it look photographable keep us fueled until dinner. After a break, Larry and Janet dressed for the event as did Fran who posed here with Janet as Mackenzie Jason and Michelle appeared and we all lounged in the living room waiting for the inductee as Fran Larry and Janet couldn't help but notice that he was still busy on the phone call which had engaged him all day but in time we were able to say good bye to Mackenzie and board the elevator to get to the A la Carte Event Pavillion where the induction was to happen and where Dick and Fran posed and met with the photographer as Larry and Janet spoke with the organizer even as we ate this appetizer while Rich Grattan arrived and posed with Larry and the general and his wife posed with Janet before Larry posed with another of the inductees Dick posed with Rich and Betsy arrived so that the photos could continue with the three sons Dick and Larry Dick and Larry with Alex the three of us with Alex Michelle and Jason and then we were set at the green screen and slowly assembled so that the photographer could take pictures of the family dobkin and eventually have me join the photo scene as Dick was directing things and then posed with his daughters before Dick, Fran, Betsy and Michelle posed and then the gathering spectators saw that after one more photo Jason should join the family photos as Larry and Janet watched and then the group who travel together gathered for these photos after which the three brothers posed for a few and there was some socializing before Rich Grattan posed with the girls and Fran and Dick posed with Michelle and Steve from Ernst and Young and then with his replacement at Ernst and Young as we found our table and noted the program. Michelle took my picture as I took hers and I imagine that this is what she captured as I then captured Dick and Fran and Larry and Janet before the salad and dessert were observed and my main course and the fish main course arrived and Judith posed with Betsy and Michelle as the program began and then Dick was inducted and gave his speech and after a few more speeches, we bid farewells but not before Larry and Dick posed with the trophy and we called it a day.

Friday was a lower key day because there was no induction to happen and so after our walk, Janet visited as it took one photo to wake me up but not so Larry who sat with Janet as the women worked on art projects with Mackenzie as Dick prepared to go on his short excursion and the rest of us went to sit by the pool where Michelle and Mackenzie were swimming and Mackenzie explored the area

and after a while Fran joined us and we watched Mackenzie swim and also enjoyed the warm sunshine.

Next we headed to Square One burgers, supposedly the best in Tampa, and as people gathered we went in past there logo and saw what they were really about as we explored the menu and Betsy, Dick and Janet made their choices as did Mackenzie and Michelle Fran Larry and me as Fran showed the menu and I ordered a local beer as drinks were served with fried pickles and the camera was used to determine the score of the basketball game (better zoom than our eyes) before the first burger came which made Michelle and Mackenzie feel good before all the other meals arrived as Dick showed off his broccoli and I did the double ketchup thing while Mackenzie showed her dessert. After a break, we headed to seasons 52 and surveyed the menu before ordering our drinks where I had more olives than Dick but he had more broccoli than anyone as flatbreads were served followed by salads and main courses by our very capable waiter and Larry and Janet Dick and I (as the birthday people) posed before Janet took a photo for Fran and in the ensuing birthday gift exchange, Michelle presented these terrible towels to Dick and me.

The next morning a race was going by our windows and so Larry watched and then as the crowd got closer Janet joined him and then we went upstairs where Dick and Fran were watching though Mackenzie and Michelle were not. Next we took Larry and Janet to the airport and the photography seemed to magically end.

Once back home, I hosted a faculty lunch for Elizabeth Davis (Anthropology), Timothy Vasen (Lewis Center), Robert Karl (History), C.P. Chou (East Asian Studies), Dan Kurtzer (Woodrow Wilson School), and Anna Katsnelson (Slavic).

And I would be remiss if I didn't include the cell phone picture I took of the inductee with his vegetables and the birthday photos that Michelle took
