Next we headed to the beach. The screw had been removed from Jane's foot and though the weather was iffy at home, it was fine at the beach as we settled into our Loveladies rental and then made the trek to CBCG
where Jane posed with Lisa as we gathered together our take out meal
and then came back so that Jane
DrLen and Judy
Sarah
and Suzanne
could admire the hush puppies
that were making Ben
and me in this self portrait
happy to explore the other dishes that made for a good Sunday dinner after an afternoon spent admiring the beach.

The next day, Monday, we grilled (and were able to do so without major flames)
as Suzanne over saw the meal
Eddie set the table
and we oversaw the neighbor's pool.
Ben and Eddie did the friendship pose
and then the height comparison pose
as Sarah
and Jane joined for dinner.
The next day began with a morning walk (indeed almost all days did) where I identified my assets
and a stop at Foodies where we saw Eddie at work
before we went to our porch
and watched the car arrive
and slowly from the doors

The next visitors were the McKools -- Sharon, Brandon and Kristen
and we were led to the beach where Brandon dug quite the deep hole which Kristen went into
and then she and Sarah built drip castles
before the hole was revisited
and the group tested the waters
returning quite wet
for the arrival of Matt Traylor and his tales of filtered water showers
as Ben slid into the hole
before we returned home for dinner
where Brandon and Ben
Sharon and Kristen
Suzanne
and Matt and Jane settled
as we observed that it was a red sky at night
and so dug into fried fish
with condiments
and baked fish
and ate as a happy grouping
before adjourning to the poker game where Matt set the costume tone
and then an effort began in the kitchen
to build a vodka watermelon
even as Matt
Eddie
Brandon
and Ben
admired the stacks of chips that were being accumulated.
Then the rains came (and the visitors fled quickly) leaving us to our books.
The next day we made our annual excursion to Moustache Bill's Diner
where Suzanne studied the menu
as Sarah
Ed
and Jane posed
so Suzanne got a retake
and Ben
and I weighed in
as our food was delivered (my eggs and grits)
Jane's French toast and sausages
Sarah's omelette
Ed's pancakes
and Ben's chipped beef.
That evening, these were some of the preparations for dinner as cheese and tomatoes were prepared
vegetables were sauteed
and Ruth Goldston stopped by on her way to the Kletzmer concert
which seemed to amuse Ben
Ed
Sarah
and me
as the pasta
and chicken were served
along with various meats.
The next day these peaches from Forked River came along with Jeff
and our excursion to gather him from Surf City brought this fudge
but we were quickly off to the beach where Jeff prepared to have his knee licked
as Jane
and Ben came forward
and we settled in
before beginning the path towards the beach
so that we could assemble
for these family photos

The trip to Surf City the next day to drop Jeff included a mini-golf game which seems to be not recorded anywhere but did have this obligatory phone booth photo
and this picture of Jeff and Suzanne waiting for the bus
as Ben and Jane brought back their ice cream
until the bus arrived and Jeff departed.
Some of the Straus arrived the next day and so dinner preparations went on
as Jane worked
and Cara, Eddie and Joel
Joel and Ben were there
as was Audrey
before we took the photos of the mothers
the sons
and Jane with her food
and Ben with his.
The next day, Jane and I went for a long walk and in the distance saw bikes coming our way
with Cara, Joel and Ben
which sent Jane into a panic
or maybe it was seeing the men high up this tower that scared both of us
so we touched the end of the island
and headed to the lighthouse
where we saluted the creator
and climbed to the top to record these scenes
as well as taking this picture (also with their camera) for a friendly family.
Once down we read the restrictions but noted that there had been more steps going up than down
made our own certificates
and walked past the bike for Jake's Ride.
That night, the moon was out in another red sky.
The next day, Suzanne and I went on a walk; while she used her phone
I used the rest room at the gas station where I captured this collection sign
and experimented with the fast action setting on my camera where I could take this still
or this sequence of 3
or these stills
or these sequences which somehow changed the picture numbering and limited me to 3 in a row.
Down the road, we ran into Jane and Patrick Daurio '10 on bikes
near the house with the garbage can architecture.
For dinner, we went to the chicken and the egg (aka Chegg) where Patrick and Jane
and then the whole group assembled for photos
before I went next door to buy a cigar from this man
and then we came back and settled in
until Joel's iced tea spilled all over the place
but was cleaned
even as we settled in for our meal

As our time was winding down, we returned our bikes
and had a drink with Lee and Judy.
