On the way to breakfast, we recorded the village where we were living and then Ben Suzanne Ed Sarah and I admired the glass and settled in for a breakfast of orange juice fruit and yogurt with many toppings for the sweet breads that came. Suzanne and Ben seemed as wilted as the flowers but Sarah and Ed studied the map which roused Suzanne from her book and once we got gasoline, we were on our way to the beach at Elinda which we explored and admired

and then we saw the beach at Kastelo and parked the car along this dirt road (neglecting to think about turning around before going to the beach to make the return easier) and went down to the beach where Ben considered swimming Sarah found this ring that we are sure belonged to Homer and Ed swam away as we looked at the watch tower atop the hill and the beaches in the distance while settling in both on the beach and on the rocks along the side of the beach. Gentle reader: though there are few images of us in the water, we enjoyed the beach and its waters; maybe that kept us in the water and off the camera?

Next we moved on to Lithi, where (relatively) many cars were parked and the streets were lined with tavernas of which we chose this one and read the menu in images as well as in words as Ben Sarah Ed me and Suzanne began with water bread Greek salad (with the very interesting pickled beans) and tsastsiki and curiously, the cheese for the salad came on the side to make my plate look like this before cheese balls and potato balls arrived along with our vessel of the house wine and Ben's lemonade to go with the grilled vegetables and the fish (type 1) which came with its own sauce and encouraged me to make this food face before the fish was consumed and the watermelon came and was also consumed but this didn't prevent the bees from coming and raising the challenge of getting the best bee picture.

While we were focusing on bee pictures, the driver of this bus dented in his luggage compartment and so though we liked the front of his bus, he was going to have some explaining to do when he got back. Some of us went into the waters while others enjoyed the chairs on the beach

before we made our way to the local dessert shop and had ice creams Coke Lights and waters and even got a spoon with which to seat the ice cream. This left us fueled for the ride back home even when we met the goats along the road.

After a rest, we decided to walk down our hill to Volissos, our local town, for dinner. We discovered the street that we had tried to drive up the first night and wondered how we could have been so foolish. In the town square, we saw the local hero the local hiking path and the local museum before going to this restaurant and recording first the menu

and then the welcoming bread and water and then the people -- Suzanne Sarah and Ed, Ben's hair and Ben's profile and finally me when the retsina in a bottle arrived along with the salad making my plate look like this as we had fried cheese more salad cheese pies pasta and a meat dish before having more salad and more cheese pies. We closed with ice cream -- chocolate and rose and a cup of coffee, not to mention a picture with the manager who gave us his card and asked that we send him these pictures. After a few failed attempts to record the darkness I took a final picture of the narrow street in about the conditions I had tried to drive up it. What was I thinking??
