In preparation for Jane's birthday, we went to this door under this sign and Ben Jeff Suzanne and I had a feast that started with Ben's trivia questions and our drinks -- soda small milkshake and larger milkshake with rice krispies and a straw wrapper as the food came with everyone's burger (or not) the frings with dipping sauces and the full dressing on my not burger.

Afterwards, there was the celebration as Ben and Jeff shared Jeff's car which made him quite excited.

The next day was Jane's actual birthday and so after meeting with Igor Rodnianski it was home to Jane's cake and vegetables as the table was set and the birthday girl had a strawberry as the decorations and balloons amused Kaylen before Jane dug in and as the cake was delivered the candles were blown out and all could celebrate.

This led me to my faculty lunch a few days later with Petre Petrov (SLA), Marta Tienda SOC/WWS, Vivek Pai COS, Tamsin Shaw POL, Jan Werner Muller POL, Francois Rigolot FIT, and Steven Chung EAS in attendance

and then a day that began with Phil Shilane's *08 thesis defense and visits from Ted Champlin (Classics) and Peter Lake (History).
