This was the afternoon when we were going to walk tot he Masai village that was 6 km down the road. Before we could walk, we had a lunch of spinach soup with my napkin arranged just right and then a vegetable pie with salad and vegetables. As I was feeling less than ideal, I picked at my food an concentrated on Coca Cola Light to settle my stomach.

After a rest (and more Coca Cola Light) the walk began and as I followed, the family walked on behind our guides and then stopped for a picture of the kids after which Frank was nice enough to take a picture of the family (with Dominic who had become one of us) and then I took a picture of Frank and Lewis (they from Seattle, he retired Microsoft now working on humanitarian causes) and his daughters (with their guide) before we came to the village and saw a donkey (reminded us of the cadonkey project) and the houses in the distance as we made our way forward and we greeted by the people of the village who marched out

got into position and sang us songs of welcome

some of which I recorded P1040560.MOV before we went in to see a villager's house before the fire demonstration about which I made a short P1040562.MOV and long movie P1040563.MOV and then watched the goats come into the house before making a friend with the salesman at the village shopping area My friend tried on a mask so I did (though it was clear that this was not the use of the mask) and then Suzanne did and Ben posed with him with his new horn necklace.

Once we left the village, we watched the sun edge down and the moon come up as the sun went below the horizon quickly as happens at the equator

but not before I could get some family pictures by the tree where we had our picnic as the moon was full in the sky the kids were clad in blankets because the warmth went down with the sun and Suzanne and I decided to end a nice day by doing Tusker beer commercials.
