The next morning we got to see what the Fairview looked like as we made our way to my wonderful breakfast with drinks including tree tomato juice as Ben and Jane liked the salt and pepper dispensers while Sarah and Suzanne were undoubtedly waiting for me to get my fruit course before the waiter took this collection of family pictures and I recorded Ben and the whole dining room so that we could begin the 4 hour ride to Mpala, the highlight of which was crossing the Equator

except for the many hustlers at the sight who diminished our joy making coming across the camels (and baboons who I didn't capture) our high point.

We arrived in time (actually late) for lunch and then sat on the porch and observed the birds as the kids got acclimated and the birds appreciated being fed by our hosts as much as we did as more birds appeared before we made our way past this elephant skull and saw these nests hanging down before we began our game drive which started with elephants and moved on to monkeys then guinea fowl before we came across the Grevy's zebras (thinner stripes and no stripes on the underside of the belly)

and then stopped at the house of the director where I tried on these horns before admiring his view and tea as we chatted while the impalas gathered in the hills for the night

and as Ben ate his cookie there were more impalas

though it wasn't really dark as the herd continued to grow

as Ben observed and last pictures were taken before we headed back to the car and ran into giraffes

and ostrich

and rare buffalo who can unfortunately barely be seen because night was falling
