It was a Sunday night in the fall and time for the chairs and cabinet party, so we had the tent up
and I got dressed for my self portraits
and then went downstairs where the buffet was set
and the foods were prepared
with some watched pots
and materials to wrap the leftovers
amidst the containers
and lemons and limes for drinks
as the cloths were there
the tables were ready for standers
and the tent finally looked reasonable
as it shielded the bar
with a few outside tables
and the heater that we decided not to use
all around the decorations
and the porch bar that got few visitors
though a good time was had by all (or so they said).
Back at work, I had a fruitless retirement conversation with Jacques Fresco (molecular Biology)
and a more productive one with Willy Childs (Art and Archaeology)
before Friday came and Scott Kenney came for lunch with Sandra
as Bernie Heykel came for lunch with me.
