On Monday, Ed Nelson from the Math department came to visit. Tuesday began with a visit from Wole Soboyejo (Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering) and then I was off to class to take a picture of the students and our visitor Eric Zaziski ('09), Sherry Zhang ('09), Jonathan Lange ('09), Amy Hollinger ('09), Mary O'Toole ('09), Elizabeth Dilday ('09), Christine Kim ('09), William Dixon ('09), Leslie Berger (Guest), Peter Hand ('09), Aishwarya Sridhar ('09), Karl Yoder ('09), Jessica Grody ('09)

After class, I came home where Dan and Syl soon arrived and heard about life from Ben as crudite and nuts cheese and dip appeared before the main course of potatoes vegetarian main course salad beans and roast beef appeared so that this was Ben's plate and this was mine.

After settling, Dansyl in their room with this bathroom before returning home where Jane and Suzanne were happy to see Janet and Larry arrive and have Janet pose with Suzanne before Janet sat down to set with Jane Larry and Jane and Larry as dinner conversation continued and Janet and Larry seemed happier because they were well fed.

On Wednesday, Dansyl, Larry and Janet posed in the faculty room Janet sat in the provost's seat and Larry and Syl stood by the president's place before we went back to the hotel to see Dick and Fran who had arrived and Syl and Larry and Janet Dan and Dick sat by the fire as I took these self portraits before heading home to see all the food preparations as Josephine worked away before I went to Sarah's room to pick her up as she and Ed sat on the bed and I admired the photos and the packed baggage before heading home to see one table set and another in process as the sweet potatoes (no marshmallows) were in preparation as Jane and Sarah were watching the Gilmore girls as Ben convinced Sarah that she should check email as she Ben Jane Suzanne and I got ready to go to dinner at Lahiere's.

Once there, we ran into Caroline Clancy and Bob Barnett before settling in to dinner. All were assembled on sides of the table as Fran posed and then Jane and I took this self portrait as Ben read the menu and Sarah and Ed and Larry and Janet enjoyed Dansyl's hospitality as we perused the menu and the vegetarian had time to take this profile shot as the bread came along with my martini. This was the bread and these were the appetizers

interrupted by the pictures of the family before the places were cleared for the main courses

which raised everyone's spirits

before I took a few group photos

as the waitress returned for another group picture into which I had planned to paste this picture of myself into the group all organized when the official Lahiere's photographer arrived and took these few photos of all of us after which dessert could be served Ben could pose with the waitress and we could finish our meal

before heading home to the task of putting away the toilet paper and calling it a day.

It was Thanksgiving Day, food was being prepared stuffing was being assembled butter was being melted the parade was on the television pots were being stirred the refrigerator was full in all directions and the turkey was being unravelled and decorated and cleaned and organized so that the final product could be admired along with the stuffing and both tables as Ben organized the silverware and the turkey was ready as the turkey stood guard as other foods were cooking or being prepared as the bread crumbs suggested it was time for the relatives to arrive and come in with the large smoked salmon as Larry Dick and Syl sat and Dick held forth to Syl Dan Larry and Dansyl to enlighten the family meeting as I took a few self portraits and Fran and Janet tended some pots

While this was happening, the Huang boys Jon and Justin had arrived, shirts were being distributed with Fran and Larry posing and then the candidate himself posing int he campaign shot that would have won it all and Nathaniel arrived as we bid farewell to Fran and Suzanne and ran into Eddie and his dad as Jane and the Huang's and then Jane and Justin prepared for the football game.

Janet did a remarkable job of recording the football game

before we took a group photo of all who assembled for the tenth annual Turkey Bowl (though we've missed some years in between). ON the way back from the field, we found a dead rat and Ran into Ross Wagner who had come to pick up Nathaniel and then returned home to the display of shoes and met Emma and Jack who had arrived in our absence along with Betsy and Matt as the next food courses were being served and Jack and Emma

kept everyone amused with their toys and their playing

even as Dan tried to capture the action which continued

as more food was served and even more was prepared

then it was back to the family room where the older people

watched the younger

as everyone wondered how there could be even more food when Devon arrived the turkey came out of the oven and the Just's appeared with cranberries as the final preparations were made and the turkey was cut though Jack would have been happy not to sit as the food was gathered

and Emma sat in the small chair as the food was assembled on the buffet

and Jane made her way through to assemble this plate as Jack sat and wondered why Ben's plate was different from Jack's and Larry's as Matt sat with Emma and my plate was ready as the people at my table dug in until there was little food left

and after Ben's self portrait failed we started to load the dishwasher and bring on the dessert with new silver as Sara Just cleaned Jack toddled and the rest of the people looked like they'd had enough even as Sarah and Emma moved about the grease showed and the dishes accumulated as the huddled masses enjoyed the fire.

Friday morning, Emma played as Ben watched and then gathered things for her breakfast as Jack watched and the rest of the family arrived as the bread was sliced and the children played as the older children played video games and the assembled visited int he family room while Larry played sudoku some cookies appeared with tomatoes and Jack ate

as did Emma and Jack and Emma with a pause for some family photos of the generations before Fran settled the cool whip appeared and Emma roamed by as the crowd int eh family room missed Dick's valiant charge across the foot bridge though on our return, all were assembled the food was out the fire was lit and the twins played the piano while Janet served Dick and Fran watched and Ben sorted Snapple tops to the amusement of Jane Dick and Fran Janet and Jack who had to be kept away from Ben's sorting and as Jack explored the others watched him and Emma as Larry got out the whipped cream the fire continued and Dick took this picture as I took this self portrait and the twins

thought about winding down as Sarah and Betsy admired the whiteness of it all and Jane's cap as the flames burnt and Dick and Larry and Dick and Dick and the twins and Jack posed for Dick as Larry stood by and I took this fire portrait and saw the people who were away from the fire and the twins

continued to be the focus even as experimental photography would occasionally be tried but the adults largely watched the twins even as Ben and Jack didn't notice the fire's last gasps or this self profile I took as Jane took a few low light pictures and Jane curled on Larry as we ended the evening with this picture of Sarah
