On Wednesday May 18, Hal Foster and Jerome Silbergeld from Art and Archaeology came to visit int he morning and then I spoke with Jean Michel Rabate who is being recruited by Comparative Literatures before calling it a day.

Thursday May 19 began at the bus stop where John Shea and I decide to act like we were band performers much to the amusement of Emily and Ben before the bus came and I departed to catch up with Brad Barber, my former student, for a PJ's breakfast. I met with Doug Arnold that morning and hosted lunch for Jerome Silbergeld (Art and Archaeology), Chris Sims (Economics), Anne Marie Slaughter (Woodrow Wilson School and Politics), Toni Turano (Dean of Faculty), Tom Hare (Comparative Literature) and Satish Myneni (Geosciences)

On Friday May 20, it was prom night and before the prom, the after-prom and the after-after-prom we decided to have a pre-prom gathering as we had done for Sarah's prom in 2002 and Jane's Cotillion in 2004 . We began with the table set and then Jane modeled her dress for Josephine to photograph as Jane then posed with Pierce Tria and then Andrew Black and then Pierce and Andrew posed together while I captured the food as it was being prepared and eaten while Sarah and Devon reappeared and Suzanne posed with Pierce while the McKeon-Williams family arrived and Jane posed with Lucy and then the 2 of them posed with the boys while Carolyn tried to get some pictures as Michael watched and the boys posed with Jane until Justin Huang, Tess Edmonds, and Lauren Engelbert arrived with various parents in tow. The assembled started to gather for photos but all of the players should be known to you gentle viewer even as the parents tried to take more photos and this is what they saw as Benjamin hid in the other room and Justin took a phone call. As Dale Engelbert chatted with Devon and Sarah there were more prom'ers assembling for the photographers to behold making it a banner day for Kodak since not all of the pictures were digital.

Next, Younjin Yi and Mike Cho arrived followed by the Szabo family as conversations continued int he other room and Dan Sullivan and his parents arrived. We took pictures of the Szabo twins with Lucy and Jane and an extra one in which they could be separated and this picture of Lucy and Jane together before Caitlin Rhoades and her mom arrived. As Jane had her conversation and Suzanne had hers Sarah chatted with Liz Marchetta (possibly about the prom 3 years ago?) and Jane and John made their way to the kitchen and began the task of exchanging flowers which continues over the next many images

without commentary but with this insignificant picture before the final result which was a prelude to the group assembling for some rooftop pictures while conversation continued and Andrew and Lucy posed as did Tess and Justin and this closeup before we took sister pictures of the Marchettas and Sarah and Jane and then the boys gathered and posed as Justin Huang, Pierce Tria, Andrew Szabo, Mike Cho, Dan Sullivan, John Szabo, Alex Tank, Angus Pacala and then as Andrew Black, Justin Huang, Pierce Tria, Andrew Szabo, Mike Cho, Dan Sullivan, John Szabo, Alex Tank, Angus Pacala which made the girls feel that they should pose as Tess Edmonds, Jane Dobkin, Youngmin Yi, Lucy McKeon (can't see), Jen Lerner, Lauren Santiago, Caitlin Rhoades (can't see), Younjin Yi, Liz Gale-Bentz, Lauren Engelbert, Catherine Marchetta, Christina Jones, Raisa Ahmed, Elena Fabiano as the conversations continued and the food stood as blurry images and flowers led to this picture of the 2 girls in the class of 2002 and this corsage and Mr. Jones before we captured Jane and Lucy's feet and these gag photos (at least, I hope they're gags)

and these pictures of more and even more feet before Jane and Andrew posed for a few as Catherine Marchetta came around the bend for a better picture and Jane noted the sushi as she and John chatted and then she started to get ready when Alex Tank appeared causing Jane to pose with Lucy and Michelle Soffen before Alessandra Mikic and Michelle Soffen posed and then Alessandra Mikic, Carolyn Williams and Michelle Soffen posed for almost the last prom picture before Carolyn got ready to pose with Jane and Lucy as I took this self portrait and wished John and Jane and David Szabo a good prom as Suzanne did the same with Michael and we were all glad that prom comes but once a year but they weren't done because they headed off to the station to find Harry Potter.
