It was early May and after talking with David Blei who I hope with join Computer Science and Bernard Chazelle who is already there on the 5th I decided to take the next day off and drive to Philadelphia where I came to Tony Lukes and saw DrLen on the roof even as I was guided elsewhere for parking as the sign was assembled and we drove in tandem to get this fallafel and desserts that Len and I thought we'd enjoy as he dug in and we felt the sugar surges.

This led us to the river where the geese and goslings

and rowers were to be observed from the rocks as more rowed by which put DrLen into a cell phone mood even as I took self portraits and rang up Jacobo so he could answer DrLen's question about the derivation of the word Wicked.

Next we headed to Dr Len's house where there was coconut cake and pie and liquid to wash it down as I ate away and Judy appeared to start the next course of food.

Back at home, Suzanne was ready so we went to see Jane and the gang give their flute concerts as Ben and Jane were ready for celebrations afterwards.

The next day was the next Behrmann dinner. So as we had done in 2004 we put on our fancies and Suzanne posed with Ben and then Ben and Jane and then Jane and finally me with a pause for Jane's opposites before we took a few more obligatory photos recorded the back yard and Ben shooting and the ball hitting the hoop so that we could say good bye to Jane with her opposites and head to the dinner.

Along the way, we ran into Karin Trainer and Bill Stowe and Bill was nice enough to take this picture of us before I took this picture of Steve Weiss and Martha Himmelfarb though I did not take photos at the dinner itself.

The next morning, we walked into town for Mother's Day coffee and met the Girrleman's with their wallet eating dog before heading home to assemble the troups for the annual Mother's day lunch.

As we'd done in previous years
2004
2003
2002
2001
we went to Main Street where we sat at the same table but in different seats as Ben and Sarah were one side Suzanne was at the head and I sat next to Jane even as Ben posed for a few more pictures. We began with Bloody Mary's (as we did last year) and then con queso dip as these family pictures were taken by the waitress who remembered taking our pictures last year as well. Suzanne had salmon Jane had the sandwich Ben had the burger Sarah had the salad and I had vegetarian chili all of which represented only slight departures from the year before. For dessert, we added carrot cake tot he Mississippi mud and the brownie with ice cream from the previous year.

Somehow, I think we'll be going back to Main Street next year.
