It was Thanksgiving (or almost) and so as we had done in
2000
2001
2002
2003
we celebrated. Suzanne began her celebration with a foot washing
and drying
that seemed to ease her mood
as Lewis
decided that Jane
needed this medication
which seemed to make her happy
as Norma
watched and Suzanne's drying
and painting
continued even as the pizzas
arrived and we opened the Brown's chocolates
to start the days of eating.
Juliana appeared for a repeat of the pumpkin picture
and then posed
as we wondered if Cider House Rules
would get watched by Jane
and John
even as Juliana
told Sarah and Suzanne about her life and the butter
and sugar
got ready for the condensed milk
as Suzanne
stirred and then went back to her pedicure
which seemed to make her happy
even as Ben and I played PayDay
while the cake
got ready and Kim made this slice of pizza
and added pepperoni
as Ben did electronics
and I missed
and then captured myself
for a profile shot even as the cake completed
and we called it a day.
Thursday morning was the main event and the onions cooked
as the bread waited
and Suzanne relaxed
as Ben
had a pre-game game
while the Huang boys
arrived to be greeted by Jane
even as Justin
showed off his injuries and the McKeons (and Unlce Mikey)
arrived ahead of Nathaniel
while Ross tied Caleb's shoes
and we were ready to head off to the game. Along the way, we ran into Eddie
and his family
as the pride of PHS 2002 posed
and the games began.
These photos come to you courtesy of Justin Huang who was allowed to photograph but not to participate (doctor's orders).

After the game, we returned home where Suzanne and Kim
were at work, Jane
was serving the postgame food
and Ben
was doing the PS/2 thing even as food emerged
and was served to Jon
Justin
and Jane
even as Amv came back with Sarah
as the Mediterranean dish
and the first poppers
were served and Amv
got ready for the bloody Mary's
as the assembled
brought their shoes
and Ben and Norma
played gin. Scott (another of the books) arrived
as did the Gespass'es
as Andy
did the commercial thing and more food
was served even as Sarah and friends
did the Thanksgiving warmth thing and Debbie
andy
and Sam
wondered what Ben
Jane (of bulging eyes)
and I (of self portrait)
were thinking though Jane's eyes seemed to lose their bulge
as the wine
was brought out
and the television (makeover)
made Sarah and friends
fall into a trance
that could only be ended by the appearance of food
and more food
and soup
which made Ben's plate
amuse Jane
as her plate
evolved
into final form
and she joined Ben
at the table
as my plate took form
and the crowd returned for seconds
and came back to enjoy at the table

Friday, Jane rushed hair blown
to sing as Sam, Debbie and Katy
admired the tree
and the crowd
included Celia Chazelle
who resisted the paparazzi even as Michael and Caroline's sister
and her parents
enjoyed the show.
Afterwards we made our way to Nassau Hall where Kim found the light switches
and then Sam
and Kim
flanked by her legions and then alone
did the presidential thing.
Back at home there was more food
and more eaters
even as the brie
filled stomachs
and Ben
ate
and then posed
with his new found chicken bone
as the assembled
got closer
more remote
and closer again
as the wine flowed
and a few
wanted soda
as Dan Yi
and Maggie
appeared though Dan
forgot to clean up his mess again. The assembled
realized it was time to go to Glenside where this gentleman
helped fill our carts
of Andy
and the crowd
that greeted us when we returned home wondering where Lewis might be.
Saturday morning, Andy and Sam
did their photo followed by Lewis
Debbie
Sarah
Jane
Suzanne
Ben
and me
even as the phone
elicited anonymity
from Ben
and we wondered
whether to light the candle
which up close
would emit an odor that might upset my cereal
and milk
as Jane
prepared to head to her luncheon (to which we were not invited)
and 3 generations of Gespass women posed
before a group of us went on a walk only to meet the others along
the canal
before returning home for a visit from the Hunts.
We greeted them at the door
along with their niece
as the children played
and the parents
watched and as more playing
led the bigger kids to PS/2
as Andy
tried to capture the scene
but others settled into the couch
to visit. Later, Suzanne
and Jane
got us ready for our movie excursion.
Sunday morning, people assembled int he kitchen
as the butter melted
under Suzanne's watchful eye
and Ben hid
then appeared
as Katy
and Jane
ate bagels
and Jane
and Ben
helped the others
think about a departure as Ben
the girls
and Suzanne
said good bye to Lewis
and to the others
who came back for a few farewell shots
and so ended a very happy Thanksgiving celebration.
