It was the end of the summer and we could feel Labor Day approaching. We were also excited because Greg and Erin were getting married. The day before we left for the wedding I met with C P Chou of the East Asian Studies Department and Kevin Lehman of the chemistry department.

On Friday morning, we were ready to leave a few minutes before wheels up time when from the door emerged Jane and we were off. We were early to pick up Sarah and so went to the WaWa where we saw Bill Flemmer and then returned to where Suzanne and Ben were watching Sarah emerge ready to go. We were excited that E Z Pass worked and made our way to the parking lot where we left the car and headed to the terminal where Ben and Jane dug into a sandwich as Sarah and Suzanne had coffee and I took this self portrait before taking Jane back for another sandwich. And wise they were to eat because this meal was hardly satisfying as we flew through and those across the aisle and on my side were happy when we were wheels down and could make our way through the terminal trying to get pictures of Republicans returning from the convention as our bags accumulated and we headed off on the rental car bus to the Hertz counter where our agent was training a new agent and the supervisor insisted that we had to photograph him as well. Once we got into the car we were ready to explore our part of Dallas including the gas prices and road signs before we got to the hotel and saw Dick and Larry in the parking lot as Dick did his hostage imitation and Larry got ready for a busy weekend bringing the bowls up to the room. We started to get our bags and met Fran as this man checked us into the room and remembered us for later. We rode the elevator up and saw our room and bed with a good view and the entry of the hotel and downtown Dallas in the distance. Ben relaxed as Dansyl came to visit and Jane and Sarah (in better pose) visited before we found the elevator and headed up to see Larry and Janet where the bowls were and Larry showed us tot he hospitality suite where there was water wine soda and more wine and munchies but we decided to beg off and head for dinner.

Dinner was at the Trevi the hotel's restaurant hosted by Dansyl as the babies arrived

and posed with Sarah and Suzanne and occasionally Jane as their mother and father and grandmother looked on. I needed a new battery and so rode the elevator to get it and then snapped the hostess on my return. We settled in for dinner as Jack and Emma and Matt Jane and Ben all wondered if my martini would have 3 olives if I took the picture in the right lighting. Suzanne was amused when Paige and Gregory arrived and Larry was dressed much more formally than Dick but they headed to dinner and so Jack and Emma wished Paige and Gregory well as did Dansyl and Ben and Sarah while the babies ate and Larry took one last suit shot as my extra olives arrived along with good bread and a salad that went well with the other opening dishes that made people at our table

happy to be eating and wonder if I could take profile and portrait shots of myself. Then, the main courses arrived

along with more bread as Suzanne practiced carrying babies and Ben's head hit the table. Some more baby holding and some coffee brought Benjamin back to life as Michelle and Jason arrived to Ben's amusement and Sarah got involved in baby holding as the desserts arrived as Fran advised that the anniversary celebration was about to begin -- 18 wonderful years. We admired the cake and sang and then were amused as our desserts arrived. After a few more pictures

it was time to call it a night and get off to sleep.

Saturday morning, I went for a walk and on my way back I saw Jean, Lois, Alon, Karen and Serge at a distance and then they got closer as I convinced them to have breakfast at the hotel where Dick, Fran, Michelle and Jason were also eating and willing to pose for couples pictures as well as taking this picture of me before Dansyl arrived and I decided to go upstairs to see who was asleep and who was awake as we eventually headed down for breakfast where Alvaro was our waiter and the others watched as my coffee and the juices along with Janet's cousin convinced me to have this fruit plate and the grits to sustain me for the day. Back upstairs, the group gathered and I tried a mirror picture before they went off to the bridesmaids' luncheon and we

left our room and went upstairs to be with the men including the fathers as we all watched football until Ben, Dan and I decided to park the car downtown and go to the Kennedy Museum where we could sit at the window where Lee Harvey Oswald changed the course of history. When we came back, we ran into the Beast in the elevator and then took Ben for a swim as the ducks gathered and Jane finished her apple as there was more swimming and a self portrait followed by more swimming and an attempt to get pictures of this man's tattoos for Jane. I said good bye to Ben in the pool and made my way past the real rehearsal people including Paige who was rushing to get there and Matt who was an observer to the elevator which was getting a special treatment which was cause for much speculation about what went wrong that required such a cleaning effort.

It was now time to gather to go tot he rehearsal dinner which was a barbeque at a ranch outside of town. Sarah posed as Ben flew out of the frame and Suzanne and Jane came down the hall as Suzanne posed for the elevator ride. In the lobby, we ran into Mikey and his troups and Hon and Sean and then Shelby posed after which there was a mother and daughter and a few sister in law pictures before we passed Gregory's car and headed out into space to get to the ranch where the guide posed and we took group pictures and one of this person before going in to meet Cathy and the musician and see Gregory greet his grandmother as the bar tender finally came into the frame and I met Erin's grandparents as the kids captured photos of the postcards on our table as Rob and Dan and Linda Pinkel arrived and Erin posed with friends whose names I've forgotten including this gentleman as Larry and Rob chatted and Sarah walked away from Gregory and Linda who posed as did the other Gregory with his cousins as Larry welcomed the assembled and Jason toasted the campaign team and the 3 brothers even as Beast and Toba and Andy and cousin Karen gathered to hear Larry speak about his love for Gregory and Erin as my food was finished so I tried to get a good picture of Dansyl or Emma as the kids at our table

looked in various directions as Dansyl watched as Greg and Erin began and became more involved as the warm feelings flowed until they and Michelle and Jason and other Dan (for Dansyl) watched as the kids played and I went to meet this gentleman (Princeton '56) and his hard core Republican wife and then did the Deanly pose before we were called up to sign and here is what we sang even as Beast shot pictures, Suzanne held a baby and I got a picture of the Bush boots and shirt and a very large earful of story about compassionate conservatism which to my way of thinking is a justification of an unrealistic selfishness but others may differ. As this server from the neighborhood served dessert and told me about his horse, Suzanne held a baby and the kids amused another Eric was really happy to have his new shirt (a win-win situation) and this couple was happy to be away from Omaha and medical school as this woman was happy to be here from Michigan and these folks from Hiram near the twin cities of Farrel and Sharon. The little ones did a song and all cheered them on until they

wound things down so that the bridal party could do its dances and as the babies watched the grandparents danced. After just a few more pictures of babies, this lad removed my wrist bracelet and I took some outdoor pictures before driving back to the hotel where the doorman was very happy to see us.

Sunday began with outdoor breakfast

at which the waiter was incognito and the food looked very good before we greeted the others

who were eating inside and did some bunny tricks

with our napkins before deciding to abandon the heat and join the inside group

even as more assembled for breakfast and we met Gregory's former room mate who is going to heal horses as we headed upstairs and relaxed

before heading down to admire Janet's quilt with the troups before Ben led us to a couch where this group picture was taken.

Next we drove downtown and gave this gentleman $4 to park in his lot as the other car arrived and we admired the geometric building as we made our way across the street to the Nasher Sculpture Center and once there took a few pictures in the entryway before getting tickets and posing with some sculptures and enjoying others including the typewriter eraser and the Roy Lichtenstein and the clothespin (original in Philadelphia) and this one with the hidden person and this one that was covered by random digits as well as a few more before heading outside to see an interesting collection including one like the PU art museum one and the states and to group with the standing people who had arms

as opposed to the Princeton people who don't and the workman who moved his arm and this colorful sculpture after which we ran into the others and observed the sun to Suzanne's delight from the inner chamber before proceeding to a few more sculptures and taking many pictures amidst the food line with a break for the skyline before taking more

While we were waiting for the crowd to clear the gift shop, Sarah did some experimental photography of the rain outside the walls the construction

the people in the gift shop and her flipflops and feet before Jason and Michelle discussed wrist bands and Grandma suggested it was time to head back where the seats were ready and those gathered were enjoying lunch while the rest of us headed to Mercado Juarez Cafe for group pictures and lunch as we all over ordered

very good food and ate a little too much hoping that our clothes would still fit.

After a short break, each of us

finished getting dressed and I tried mirror pictures which never work and a head on shot from a bad angle before getting pictures of the family members getting ready for the wedding. Once downstairs, we greeted the Meyer-Roux's and Janet and Dansyl and then Janet and Syl as Dan showed off his tux and Michelle and Fran appeared while we had to walk past the grimy ash tray en route to the couples listening to the string quartet as Lois found her seat and we looked at the crowd as Alon was undoubtedly taking a picture of the chupah to Fran's amusement as Ben posed for Jason and Serge used old technology to take pictures that must have been like this picture of the Pinkels or these self portraits and this profile as Dansyl and then Larry and Janet were all seated as Matt settled in and the groomsmen

in various configurations waited for the bridesmaids

to settle and for the ring bearers to come forth in the wagon and get ready to sit through the ceremony. As the ceremony progressed

the ring bearers observed as they were pronounced and then shown as husband and wife. This led to the usual round

of family photos as the crowds cleared for more photos and Ben and Jane and then the 5 of us and then the 7 of us before the Dick and Fran family tree posed for this camera before separating into these generations and this one not to mention Jean and Lois and a few shoe pictures followed by many pictures of the babies in their wagon

as we dissembled and headed away to the bar only to have to return for family pictures and then Paige and Greg and Erin before the photographers took this picture (and maybe a few more) and sent us back to eat.

At our table, were Mikey and Hon Beast and Barb and their kids not to mention cousin John who was at the next table. The cameras were rolling for the first dance as Ben had his fruit and I had my salad with pretty butter pats and sorbet as we took pictures of Mikey's family until the chicken nuggets came and the kids posed with their Heinz bottles int he hope that this would get John Kerry elected. Suzanne had this and I had this with her red wine and my white to amuse us as the cookies came and Ben went to visit Sylvia and he and Rob tried to amuse Sylvia as the couple took to the dance floor bringing out the photographers who recorded this as Ben and Sean were amused as Dan learned that Donna's daughter had given birth and various family members thought about dancing and then recorded that we did as they went off with the camera and took a lot of pictures

before I got this picture of Dick and Larry and Alon and Mikey as the cakes appeared and Dansyl watched as they were cut and the crowds watched as bride and groom fed each and I tried to get too close and then was able to see Ben's mouth before the birthday girls appeared and the bride and groom played the ``how well do you know each other'' game as things blurred before I got a picture of the blended family and one of brother and sister and Jane and Suzanne holding a baby as the chairs were lifted for bride and groom

and for the groom's parents and for the bride's parents before Mikey and Jane danced and we said good night to the babies and decided to call it a day.

Monday morning, we ran into Aunt Jody and then Beast posed with Sylvia and Ben posed with his apple before Jason showed off the shirt he got and the number he wore in the morning's 15K. Larry and Jody said good bye and we headed along the way through the W-I-D-E lane and recorded our mileage behind this inspirational message as we gave in our ticket and bought gas at this station before this gentleman took our car so that we could see one last cowboy sculpture and have Dick and Fran and our family and Jason and Michelle (hidden) on the bus for this self portrait as we gathered and Ben led the way through security where this gentleman insisted on checking me carefully after which we went to get some food to see that Dick and Fran and Michelle and Jason were there and Fran was about to read The Fountainhead as Suzanne and Ben got the pretzel dog and I got the pizza to bring on the plane which arrived very early enabling us to take the monorail and get through the station and to our car before we were supposed to land.

Good luck Erin and Greg! Have a wonderful life together!
