It was author's tea. In previous years, we went to authors tea back in 2002 and a few times before the advent of digital photography. But, before I could go, I looked out of my office window one day and saw some of Ben's classmates (on May 11). On the next day, May 12, I took pictures of Coe Evans and Lorrie McGough from the housing department.

Finally, on Thursday May 13, it was time for the main event. Ben came into frame and let me past the 5th grade exhibit to his classroom where he went in to see the various foods including tomato and cheddar sandwiches cucumber and cottage cheese sandwiches and peanut butter rollups that Meredith had made. After looking at the list of presentations we admired the wafer pencils and chocolate chip pan cookie (with a message) along with the foods that we didn't bring. We reviewed our food and Meredith and more food before the teacher (Ms. Sanderson) and Suzanne suggested that we say hello to Ed and Ryan and have Ben lead us on a tour of his work of the class book and his page in it and then of his poem in the book of poetry.

The kids then began to read their stories in turn

with Suzanne listening as after one more it was Ben's turn and then he gave up the stage and the stories continued

which built up a large appetite so that the food was finished and we could go but stopped on the way out to record this person and Ben's artwork to end a creative day.
