It all started on Tuesday, April 13, when I had Mike Jennings (German), Hal Foster (Art and Archaeology), Shirley Tilghman (President), Stan Allen (Architecture), Susan Taylor (Art Museum) and Paul Dimaggio (Sociology) in for lunch. The next day, Wednesday, Michael Oppenheimer (Woodrow Wilson School and Geosciences), Peter Schaefer (Religion), Eldar Shafir (Psychology), Ken Steglitz (Computer Science), Alastair Wright (Art and Archaeology), and Yin Lu (Julie) Young (Civil and Environmental Engineering) came. On Thursday, Mccauley Peterson of OIT came to help work on our secret project.

Lunch that day was a major cause for celebration, Lorraine Post (shown with her husband) and Nita Cherry (shown with her husband) were being honored as outstanding employees (which they are!). Here they're shown with their supervisor, Kris Miller and here with their supervisor's supervisor, (that would be me). I went into Manhattan for dinner at the Harvard Club with Bill Kirby who is my counterpart at Harvard. The next morning, Linda, Sheryl and Suzanne headed off for a road trip bringing back pistachio nuts (see below) among other things.

Saturday morning, it was time for a Mary Kay show and Pam and her friend came with refreshments and set the table from this supply as the guests began to arrive with their driver so that the party could begin up close and from afar which made Ben and me know that it was time to go to the frisbee tournament.

The first person we saw there was Noah and then Sarah in the distance as the other photographer captured some pictures of the toss off after which Sarah joined Noah for a group photo on the sidelines before re-entering the game though I got distracted by my attempts to get a picture of the Vassar girl with the serious red hair. Fordham looked dejected as Princeton got set to celebrate and Sarah

worked to open the gift that Noah brought as she introduced Ben to friends from the team and posed with them before opening the gift as people gathered to watch the process

until the gong appeared and was struck so that Sarah could pose with her friend and then the siblings could join and then even I could join before the team photos and the beleagured team got ready to hear the winners sing their praises.

This was the cue for Ben and me to get these groceries at Wawa and to bring his sandwich and the drinks and my sandwich back as the team assembled and Ben got ready to watch.

Amv arrived and I set her to the task of recording the action as the team got ready for game 2 as Sarah posed with friends and Amv showed that she has the profile thing down pat as she recorded us and then the action against Columbia and on the sidelines as the game heated up and I did another self portrait while Sarah got vicious on defense and Ben started to get bored though the action continued as he pondered the world and the room mates posed as he gathered our things and made our way to watch the men though Ben got excited when Suzanne arrived because he didn't realize he'd be going to the concert and not getting home until Sarah's cake was half eaten. Sarah put on the birthday crown and started opening taking a break to give us this card which read better in the dark and had a beautiful cover picture so that she could open more as Ben drank and the chain came out. She worked her way to trying it on and then moved on to the next card and present which were shoes that needed to be tried on during which time Jane's text and card appeared. Jane tried on the necklace as Sarah showed her tan and Jane watched as Sarah showed her blister and up close then Sarah tried on her hat and Ben dropped the incognito and showed his face as Sarah Ben and Jane watched Sarah try on ear rings and get the next gift as I did a self portrait and a profile and Sarah tried on another ear ring as the kids watched the food and Jane's many attempts at profile got lots of Suzanne and a little of Jane whose expression of horror was undoubted derived from a bad photo and the pistachio nuts from Trader Joe's.

I finished the weekend in more sedate moments with my fellow deans Peter LePage (Cornell), Sharon Long (Stanford) and Peter Salovey (Yale).
