It was the Race for the Cure -- an important event for a good cause. To get ready for the race, there was the pre-race meal of chicken and some nuts before the efforts to make the team sign caused DrLen to go incognito as Jane and Kaylen worked and Jane made faces. DrLen was still incognito, but when I awoke the next morning (race day) the sign was ready and Sarah and Amv arrived in time to salute our captain and start to organize numbers for the race. Ben and Suzanne and Len (back) and front were ready as Suzanne bade us well Amv did her Red Bull S/F commercial twice and so we were ready to send the first car on to the race.

We got to the first turn and then this man and this one directed us to leave the car and walk towards the grounds where we checked to make sure we qualified and then watched as the winning time showed that the winner had sped by so that we could start accumulating goods from these people while this group handled the shirt exchange and Sarah and Amv covered their backs. Next we ran into the men who ran the race and posed with their poker pal and the team sign and the extended team (or at least that which was there then). Next, Adele posed with our sign even though she was on a competing team. Then came Leslie and Laura and kids and so it was time for a children's picture or two after which we ran into Louise, Bill and Willie and then our captain and other members of our team as these girls gave Suzanne survivors things and a hat and shirt as Judy did her signs and our captain led us closer to the race. We paused to salute our excellent doctors and to eat some muffins before Hannah and Henry appeared with painted faces and Michael arrived and posed with Suzanne and Pam as DrLen gathered team chairs. As the younger (but not youngest) generation gathered there were many pictures to be taken and then the Chip and Leslie and Judy and Len pictures before the water commercial practice. At this point, someone decided to take my picture before I could take Suzanne and Seva in the final preparations for the team photo. This man from this company organized us and I took many pictures before joining the picture that this gentleman was kind enough to take before the officials took our official team picture after which the remaining Klockenbrinks were photographed and Jane and Lucy did the famous 2 hands / 1 glove pose.

Suzanne and I posed with the sign as DrLen did a round of sign hiding poses and the girls posed before the Rider crowd did its pictures. After a trip to Porta-Johnny city and the generator that made it all work, it was time for the race to begin. The governor went by and ignored us. Amv tried to pose with Ben but we couldn't get a close picture until Sarah joined and then we start to the beginning line where the gang was assembling and the family Shea appeared. We marched on

until we came to the reviewing stand where the governor mentioned our team and so we marched on and continued stopping to take this inspiration from BMS before we reached the finish and recorded our time and the rest of our team members who had gone before us. While gathering, we met Ms. teen New Jersey and wished her well at the nationals. Then, we met someone in Princeton colors and had her pose with our 2 sophomores before heading home where Chip had his plate full having received the food from Olive's, while Adam solved the problem of the beer bottle opener. Laura and Hannah and Kathy were eating as I made my weird gnome faces and Judy ate and Sarah and Michael discussed the English language being eventually joined by Amv as the Shea's ate incognito and Ben and several Klockenbrinks watched the football game while the teenagers ate on both sides of their table and remained amused by the matzah ball as I admired their clean plates and Jane considered getting a rest but there was no escaping the discussion about fees at Nassau Swim Club.
